Trident's New Dhar Yarn Plant and Budhni Upgrades

Trident Ltd is an Indian diversified manufacturer operating across home textiles, paper, yarn, chemicals and solar energy, exporting to more than 100 countries from over 25 plants and serving retail consumers through myTrident.com alongside global B2B wholesale customers.

The yarn programme centres on a new manufacturing facility at Dhar in Madhya Pradesh with a capacity of 1,99,680 spindles. Trident has already acquired 179.2 acres of leasehold land at Dhar at a cost of approximately ₹106.09 crore. At its existing Budhni facility, the company will add 99,840 spindles, modernise 48,000 old spindles into 70,176 new spindles for finer counts, and replace 960 old rotors with 2,400 new rotors.

In sheeting, Trident approved the addition of 336 looms, taking proposed total capacity to 840 looms from the existing 504 looms. The paper business will gain 28 tonnes per day, lifting proposed capacity to 507 TPD from 479 TPD. A 60 MW hybrid renewable project comprising 60 MW of wind power and 20 MW of solar power (alternating current) will be set up in addition to the existing solar capacity of 57.3 MW DC peak.

The expansion will be financed through internal accruals and debt. Trident said the projects are expected to strengthen its market position, enhance operational capabilities, support environmentally responsible operations, improve energy efficiency and expand its presence in domestic and international markets. Existing capacity utilisation stands at 94% at the Budhni yarn facility, 58% in sheeting, 81% in paper and 100% in existing solar power operations.
