Mammogen Partners With MammoLink to Bring KATELYN-ERIN Trial to Florida Communities

By ·

Key takeaways

  • Mammogen's KATELYN-ERIN trial will enroll approximately 2,600 women and evaluate genTRU-breast against biopsy-confirmed pathology.
  • MammoLink operates six mobile 3D mammography units across Florida and will bring the trial into community settings.
  • Mammogen closed an up to $30 million Series A financing in June 2026 led by a U.S. public retirement system.

Mammogen said on October 27, 2026 that it has formed a clinical research partnership with MammoLink to bring its KATELYN-ERIN trial to communities across Florida through MammoLink's mobile 3D mammography network. The prospective study will evaluate Mammogen's genTRU-breast blood-based RNA assay in approximately 2,600 women, according to GlobeNewswire.

How the KATELYN-ERIN Trial Will Run

Mammogen is a predictive health company developing blood-based RNA diagnostics for women's health. MammoLink is a physician-owned breast imaging company founded by breast imaging radiologist Dr. Ryan Polselli, and it operates six mobile 3D mammography units across Florida.

The KATELYN-ERIN study will test genTRU-breast against biopsy-confirmed pathology within the real-world breast care pathway. Mammogen said the assay has shown strong Stage I breast cancer detection performance in earlier clinical studies. The trial is named for Katy Shea-Butts, whose diagnosis at age 29 helped inspire Mammogen's founding mission.

Elizabeth Cormier-May, Mammogen's chief executive, said the study is meant to move the assay's science into practice. "The science behind genTRU-breast has demonstrated promising, powerful signals of breast cancer at its earliest stages. KATELYN-ERIN is about taking that science into the real world, at scale," she said. Cormier-May described the approach as dual-source RNA biology that reads signals from both the tumor and the host response to disease.

Polselli said the partnership extends MammoLink's access mission. "If we can bring imaging closer to women and ultimately layer meaningful biological information into that same experience, we have an opportunity to make the breast care journey simpler and potentially far more powerful," he said. The companies said the trial will explore whether blood-based biology could complement imaging, particularly for women with dense breasts.

Mammogen's Funding and Leadership Record

Mammogen closed an up to $30 million Series A financing in June 2026 led by a U.S. public retirement system, according to akta.pro company records. The same records list total funding of $32.1 million and four funding rounds on file, including a $2 million seed round closed in June 2021.

The records also show Mammogen appointed Dr. Elise Berman as chief medical officer in June 2026, adding more than 20 years of breast imaging, medical affairs and clinical development experience. Mammogen was founded in 2020 and is based in Aliso Viejo, California.

Earlier Steps Toward the Trial

Mammogen named Dr. Rebecca Kaltman as principal investigator for the KATELYN-ERIN trial in October 2026, according to FinancialContent Business Page. The same study evaluates genTRU-breast, the blood-based RNA assay for breast cancer detection.

In June 2026, Mammogen announced a Series A funding round of up to $30 million led by a U.S. public retirement system, GlobeNewswire reported. The company said the funds would support clinical validation and commercialization of genTRU-breast.

Mammogen appointed Dr. Robert S. Epstein as an independent director in October 2026, GlobeNewswire reported. Epstein brought more than two decades of diagnostics and precision medicine experience and previously served on Illumina's board for 13 years.
