JK Lakshmi Cement's Electric Clinker Runs From Sirohi

The existing fleet of more than 70 electric vehicles runs on routes linking the Sirohi plant in Rajasthan with the Kalol grinding unit, the Palanpur unit and the Surat grinding unit. JK Lakshmi Cement has achieved nearly 100% electric vehicle-based clinker dispatches from Sirohi to Kalol in Gujarat.

The company is working with electric vehicle logistics providers SwitchLabs and Billion E to manage transportation requirements. Vinita Singhania, Chairperson and Managing Director, said the deployment of more than 70 electric vehicles represented progress in adopting cleaner transportation solutions. "The transition to electric vehicle-based clinker dispatches on the Sirohi–Kalol route," she said, was an important step in the company's broader decarbonisation strategy.

The programme sits within a green logistics and sustainability roadmap that targets net-zero emissions by 2047. JK Lakshmi Cement operates integrated plants at Jaykaypuram in Sirohi district and Dabok in Udaipur district, Rajasthan, and Ahiwara in Durg district, Chhattisgarh, along with grinding units at Kalol and Surat in Gujarat, Jhamri in Haryana and Cuttack in Odisha.
