By News Desk ·
Key takeaways
- Cato Networks launched AI Endpoint, which discovers AI tools and enforces policies across browsers, desktop applications and locally running agents.
- Cato AI Endpoint inspects prompts and responses inline routed through its platform to determine which policies to enforce.
- Brian Anderson, Global Field CTO of Cato Networks, said linking user, endpoint, data, prompt, response, agent activity, tool call and policy decision surfaces anomalies and unusual behavior.
Cato Networks launched AI Endpoint, a product that discovers use of artificial intelligence tools and applications and enforces policies across browsers, desktop applications and local agents running on a client device. Security Boulevard reported the launch on October 27, 2026.
How Cato AI Endpoint Inspects Prompts
Cato Networks designed AI Endpoint to be used independently or alongside its security access service edge (SASE) platform. The product inspects prompts and responses inline that are routed through its platform to determine which policies need to be enforced.
Brian Anderson, Global Field CTO of Cato Networks, said linking the user, endpoint, data, prompt, response, agent activity, tool call, and policy decision surfaces anomalies and unusual behavior in a way that makes it possible to ensure end users are not using unauthorized shadow AI tools to access various cloud services. Anderson added that Cato AI Endpoint enables cybersecurity teams to enforce policies across desktop applications and AI agents running locally versus only securing a browser interaction.
Anderson noted that in the wake of a series of high-profile cybersecurity incidents involving AI agents, budget dollars are now being allocated to AI security. The challenge, per the report, is that many AI tools, applications and agents are deployed by end users who install them on their client devices.
Cato's Scale Behind the Endpoint Push
Cato Networks serves over 4,000 enterprises globally, including Fortune 500 and Forbes Global 2000 customers such as Swissport, Carlsberg Group, O-I Glass, Redners Markets, Fiskars Group, Komax, Just Born Quality Confections and Element Solutions Inc., according to akta.pro company records. The same records show $350 million+ annual recurring revenue in 2025, 43% year-over-year growth, and a $409 million Series G round in June 2025 led by ION Crossover Partners and Vitruvian Partners that valued the company at above $4.8 billion.
Earlier Cato AI Security Moves
On October 13, 2026, Uniti Solutions launched an AI security service powered by Cato Networks to address employee use of AI tools without approval, with the service monitoring and governing AI interactions, Investing.com reported. Cato Networks also promoted its XOps platform to enrich SIEM workflows with network and security context on October 21, 2026, according to Catonetworks. On October 22, 2026, Cato's AI-native SASE platform generated IPS signatures for PHP2Shell vulnerabilities (CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619) in minutes after PHP released fixes, Catonetworks reported.
Cato's October 21 Webinar
Cato Networks will host a free webinar on October 21 on "Cato AI Security: Next-Gen Security for the AI Era," covering identifying shadow AI, measuring AI adoption, and protecting prompts and responses, Naver reported.
