Damartex Group reported first-quarter FY27 revenue of €98.6 million, down 8.0 per cent year on year, as hot weather and weak consumer confidence delayed seasonal purchases. Damartex Q1 Sales Slip Across Divisions
Revenue declined 8.3 per cent at constant currency in the first quarter of fiscal 2026/27. Damartex said it stepped up disciplined management to preserve profitability during a particularly difficult September for clothing and wider consumer spending. The group pointed to unusually hot summer weather, weak consumer confidence, renewed inflation concerns and persistent geopolitical uncertainty across Europe.
Fashion division revenue decreased 7.7 per cent on a reported basis, or 7.9 per cent at constant currency, to €74.4 million. Damart sales declined 8.4 per cent on a reported basis as customers postponed purchases of its key autumn-winter collection, though the brand's store network remained resilient. Damart entered supermarkets for the first time from October with a range developed specifically for that channel, and is expanding in France and Belgium's tender market with technical textile ranges for professions including public security and defence, Damartex said in a press release.
Xandres generated revenue of €11.0 million, down 3.4 per cent, with its premium positioning providing relative resilience and in-store sales showing positive momentum. The brand plans to continue expanding in the Netherlands and Germany in the coming quarters.
Home & Lifestyle revenue fell 11.1 per cent on a reported basis, or 11.5 per cent at constant currency, to €17.2 million. Coopers of Stortford sales declined 12.6 per cent, while 3Pagen revenue fell 9.9 per cent as pressure on household purchasing power continued to weigh on spending. Santéol sales decreased 3.4 per cent as heatwaves led some patients to reduce treatment time, lowering compliance and billing, while Almadia sales fell 5.2 per cent during the quarter, although its September revenue was stable year on year.
