Censinet opened enrollment for the 2027 Healthcare Cybersecurity & AI Benchmarking Study, the sixth wave of an annual study that benchmarks cybersecurity maturity and AI governance readiness against healthcare peers. The study is co-sponsored by the American Hospital Association, Health-ISAC, and the Healthcare and Health Sector Coordinating Council Cybersecurity Working Group, EIN Presswire reported.

What the 2027 Study Measures

Participants complete two enterprise assessments and an organizational questionnaire in Censinet RiskOps. The NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0 assessment covers cybersecurity maturity across the framework's functions, and the NIST AI Risk Management Framework assessment covers how an organization governs, maps, measures, and manages AI risk. The Organizational Metrics questionnaire covers cyber program structure, staffing, investment, ownership, and performance.

The 2027 study eliminates the optional HICP and HPH CPG modules, makes selected Organizational Metrics fields optional, and allows eligible responses from prior-year assessments to carry forward for review. Participation is free for qualified hospitals, health systems, and integrated delivery networks, whether or not they are Censinet customers. Participants receive benchmarking access in Censinet RiskOps, peer comparisons, board-ready dashboards and summary reporting, a participant-only Deep Dive Report plus the Executive Summary of industry findings, and a participant webinar.

Findings from the 2026 study showed that 70% of participating healthcare organizations have an AI governance committee, but only 30% maintain an enterprise-wide AI inventory, and one-third have no way to detect when vendors embed AI into products they have already approved.

"AI governance in healthcare is being built in real time, and organizations need a way to understand whether their programs are keeping pace with both their peers and the risks they face," said Ed Gaudet, CEO and Founder of Censinet. "Benchmarking turns that uncertainty into evidence leaders can act on and defend to their boards."

Censinet's Funding and Platform Record

Censinet is a Boston-based company founded in 2018, according to akta.pro company records. Its total funding stands at $19.3 million at Series A stage, with the last round dated January 11, 2023. Funding rounds on record number four, including a $9 million round in January 2023 led by Ballad Ventures, MemorialCare Innovation Fund, and UNC Health Ventures, and a $7.8 million Series A in April 2019 led by Cedars Sinai and HLM Venture Partners. The company's revenue estimate is $5 million to $10 million, and its headcount range is 11 to 50.

Earlier Censinet Recognition

Censinet RiskOps won Overall Risk Management Solution of the Year in the 10th annual CyberSecurity Breakthrough Awards, EIN Presswire reported in October 2026. GlobeNewswire reported the same month that the AI-native platform integrates third-party, enterprise, and AI risk management, with automation reducing assessment time by 66%. In September 2026, EIN Presswire reported that Censinet was recognized in Gartner's 2026 Coolest Vendor Innovations for Assurance: GRC and TPRM for its healthcare-specific AI-driven third-party risk management.

Enrollment Deadline

Qualified healthcare organizations must request participation and, once enrolled, complete the Organizational Metrics questionnaire and the NIST CSF 2.0 and NIST AI RMF assessments by December 7, 2026 to be included in the 2027 analysis.
