MoneyGram launched a new global consumer experience on October 19, 2026, combining digital money movement, cash access and stablecoin-powered capabilities in one app and website. The company said the refreshed MoneyGram Online experience lets consumers send, receive, hold and use money across borders, with stablecoin infrastructure handled behind the scenes.
What the MoneyGram App and Website Do
The reimagined experience goes beyond person-to-person transfers. Consumers can receive and hold funds digitally, send money internationally, pay bills and top up mobile phones, and move between digital money and cash through MoneyGram's global retail network. In select markets, consumers can also maintain a stable, dollar-denominated balance.
MoneyGram said consumers do not need to understand or manage stablecoin technology themselves. The company handles the complexity of moving money behind the scenes, giving consumers a simple, familiar way to move and manage money globally with greater speed and flexibility.
"Global money movement has become increasingly fragmented, forcing consumers to navigate different systems depending on how they want to pay, receive or use their money," said Anthony Soohoo, Chairman and CEO of MoneyGram. "We're changing that. MoneyGram is bringing digital money movement, cash access and stablecoin-powered services together in one connected experience."
Consumers can send money globally to bank accounts, debit cards, digital wallets, retail locations and MoneyGram app users. The experience supports 40 languages and is tailored to each market. MoneyGram said consumers in the United States can now send directly to MoneyGram app users in markets including Colombia and El Salvador, with recipients able to receive and manage funds digitally while retaining access to cash through the retail network where available.
"Our product strategy starts with the consumer, not the technology," said Luke Tuttle, Chief Product and Technology Officer at MoneyGram. "People shouldn't have to think about which product to use or how the technology works behind the scenes."
The updated app and website are live across supported markets globally.
MoneyGram's Stablecoin and Blockchain Partnerships
According to akta.pro company records, MoneyGram became an active validator on the Solana proof-of-stake network in June 2026, staking SOL and processing blocks at the protocol level, and joined the Solana Developer Platform alongside Mastercard. The same records show MoneyGram launched MGUSD, a U.S. dollar stablecoin on Stellar issued by Bridge, with M0 smart contracts and Fireblocks custody, integrated into the MoneyGram app via a self-custodial wallet. MoneyGram was also selected in May 2026 as anchor remittance validator on Tempo, the Layer 1 blockchain co-developed by Stripe and Paradigm.
Earlier MoneyGram Card and Payroll Moves
MoneyGram launched the MoneyGram Card, a stablecoin-backed card for eligible customers, in Colombia in September 2026, according to PR Newswire. Payments Dive reported the same month that MoneyGram would partner with Signify Holdings on a stablecoin-backed digital payments card, initially launching in Colombia. In September 2026, Zebec Network, the Stellar Development Foundation and MoneyGram announced integrating MoneyGram Ramps into Zebec's enterprise payroll platform, enabling fiat off-ramp access on the Stellar network, Financial Post reported.
MoneyGram's Next Steps
MoneyGram said the MoneyGram Card is available in Colombia, with expansion to more markets planned.
