Minnesotans can now shop and compare 2027 health plans at MNsure.org, ahead of an open enrollment period that starts November 1, the marketplace said. MNsure announced the preview tools on October 19, 2026, according to PR Newswire. Minnesota carriers will offer 211 total plans, medical and dental combined, for plan year 2027.

MNsure's 2027 Shop and Compare Tools

MNsure's online shop and compare tools let consumers view plans, premiums and out-of-pocket costs from multiple insurance companies side by side. Enrollees can manage their accounts online and update financial and family information through MNsure's eligibility and enrollment system. MNsure is the only place where eligible Minnesotans can apply for and receive tax credits or cost savings on approved Minnesota health plans.

"Minnesotans looking for health insurance want a quality product that won't strain their family budget," said MNsure CEO Libby Caulum. "MNsure's new tools allow consumers to compare their options and costs to help them find a health plan that will protect their families in the coming year."

Caulum said about half of MNsure enrollees will likely qualify for tax credits to lower the cost of monthly premiums. "Eligible Minnesota families can still save an average of $600 per month — more than $7,000 a year — on private health insurance plans through MNsure," she said.

Aspirus enters the market as a new medical carrier in northeast Minnesota. All Minnesotans have health plan choices from at least two insurance companies, and most have choices from three or more. All bronze plans sold through MNsure work with health savings accounts, a change from the past, when consumers had to enroll in a high-deductible health plan to use an HSA.

Free help is available through MNsure's community partnerships, including plan advice from a MNsure-certified broker. MNsure's 22 broker enrollment centers offer free walk-in assistance, and hundreds of MNsure-certified assisters across the state help in person, over the phone or by virtual meeting.

MNsure's Marketplace Record

MNsure is Minnesota's official state-run Affordable Care Act health insurance marketplace, operated under the Minnesota Department of Human Services, according to akta.pro company records. The marketplace was established as Minnesota's official health insurance marketplace under the Affordable Care Act, launching operations in 2013, and began open enrollment for ACA-compliant coverage effective January 2014. The same records list Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota (Blue Plus), HealthPartners and Medica as carriers offering qualified health plans through the marketplace, with provider networks and covered prescription drug lists. MNsure serves all Minnesota residents, and all plans cover the same essential health benefits required by the Affordable Care Act.

Aspirus Health Plan's Minnesota Entry

Aspirus Health Plan joins the marketplace for 2027 as a new medical carrier in northeast Minnesota. The plan's own site, Aspirus Health Plan, lists its coverage offerings. MNsure's open enrollment period for 2027 health coverage begins November 1.
