Moberg Pharma said on November 3, 2026 that the United States Patent and Trademark Office granted a patent covering an improved dosing regimen for MOB-015, its topical onychomycosis drug, with a projected expiry date in December 2041. The Swedish company announced the grant through PR Newswire.
What the MOB-015 Dosing Patent Covers
The US is the first market to grant a patent application relating to the improved dosing of MOB-015. Moberg Pharma said the patent rests on a combination of clinical results, including studies supporting the European approval of MOB-015 and its most recently completed Phase 3 study in North America. Patent applications on MOB-015 dosing have also been filed in other markets and remain under examination.
Moberg Pharma holds all rights to MOB-015 in the US, which it describes as the largest single onychomycosis market globally. The company said its ambition is to run an additional Phase 3 study to support a future FDA approval. "We are very pleased that the first patent relating to the improved dosing of MOB-015 has now been granted in the U.S.," said Anna Ljung, CEO of Moberg Pharma. "As we evaluate the optimal development and partnership strategy for the U.S., strengthening the intellectual property position around MOB-015 is an important part of creating long-term value from the asset."
MOB-015 is approved in 14 countries and is marketed as Terclara in Sweden and Norway, where Moberg Pharma says it is the market leader. The company is preparing a broader international rollout, including launches with Karo Healthcare under the Lamisil brand.

An ICC arbitral tribunal confirmed the termination of Galderma's 2014 neuromodulator research and development partnership with Ipsen, AETOSWire reported on October 21, 2026. Galderma said the decision does not affect its commercialization of Dysport, Alluzience and Relfydess.
Moberg Pharma's Next Steps
Moberg Pharma's Nomination Committee, appointed on October 20, 2026, will submit proposals to the 2026 AGM on May 20, 2027, news.cision.com reported. The company said it remains focused in the near term on markets where MOB-015 is already approved or where commercial partnerships are in place.
