Aamal Medical, a subsidiary of Qatar's Aamal Company, signed an exclusive representation agreement with Leo Cancer Care to distribute its upright radiotherapy systems across the Middle East and North Africa, The Peninsula reported on November 3, 2026. The agreement appoints Aamal Medical as the exclusive distributor of Leo Cancer Care's technologies in the region.

Aamal Medical's Exclusive MENA Distribution Deal

Aamal Medical has supplied medical equipment to Qatar's healthcare sector for more than 50 years. Under the agreement, it will represent Leo Cancer Care's upright radiotherapy systems, which position patients upright while keeping the treatment beam fixed. The Marie solution for particle therapy has received US Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance and CE marking and has been used to deliver its first patient treatments.

Gokhan Ozkan, General Manager of Aamal Medical, said: "We are pleased to partner with Leo Cancer Care to bring its innovative upright radiotherapy technologies to our markets." He added that upright treatment options "have the potential to improve access to radiotherapy while making the treatment experience more patient-centred and humane."

Miha Ulcar, Director of Sales EMEA at Leo Cancer Care, said: "We are excited to partner with Aamal Medical, whose longstanding reputation and reach within Qatar's healthcare sector will be invaluable as we introduce our upright radiotherapy solutions to the region." Leo Cancer Care announced in September 2026 that the first clinical treatment using its Marie system took place in June 2026, with the platform cleared for integration with both particle and photon fixed-beam technologies, according to PR Newswire.

Aamal's Healthcare and Portfolio Moves

Aamal's healthcare expansion follows earlier partnership activity recorded by akta.pro company records. In April 2025, Ebn Sina Medical signed a strategic partnership with BeiGene to introduce oncology treatments in Qatar. In November 2025, Aamal signed a memorandum of understanding with Germany's Niedax Group to establish a cable management facility in Qatar, expected to create around 200 jobs and serve the broader Gulf region. In May 2026, the board approved the liquidation of three subsidiaries, C San Trading, Gulf Rocks, and Aamal Vehicle Maintenance, as part of portfolio rationalization.
