How the Early Remarried Empress Release Works
Stars Shin Min-a, Ju Ji-hoon, Lee Jong-suk and Lee Se-young announced the earlier date at the Seoul press conference on Tuesday. Disney described the early release as a thank you to fans for their support.
The rest of the 10-episode series keeps its original rollout. Two new episodes arrive each Wednesday beginning November 11, and the final pair streams November 25.
The series is based on a Naver Webtoon. Shin plays Navier, empress of the Eastern Empire, whose marriage unravels when her husband, Emperor Sovieshu (Ju), falls for escaped slave girl Rashta (Lee Se-young). Navier agrees to a divorce on one condition: she must be allowed to marry Crown Prince Heinrey (Lee Jong-suk) of the rival Western Kingdom.
Yeoh Geena and Hyun Choongyeol adapted the series for the screen, and Cho Suwon directed. Cho's credits include Still 17 and Pinocchio.
The early premiere follows sold-out preview screenings of the series at the Busan International Film Festival in October. According to Disney, the trailer generated more than 13 million views across YouTube and social media platforms in its first 48 hours, and the original webtoon has amassed nearly three billion views.

Disney+ is available in more than 150 markets across North America, Europe, Asia/Pacific, Africa and Latin America, according to akta.pro company records. The same records put Disney+ at approximately 131.6 million global subscribers, with 57 to 60 million located in the US.

Disney+ and Hulu added The Remarried Empress to their listings for the week of October 30, 2026, alongside Aliens and High Country season 2, PCMag reported. Estadao reported on October 31 that Disney+'s November 2026 slate includes the final episode of VisionQuest and the third season of Percy Jackson. Forbes reported that VisionQuest Episode 7, "Immolation," airs November 3, 2026, at 6 p.m. PT and 9 p.m. ET on Disney+, with the finale on November 10.
