Anna Mallett, Netflix's VP Production for the UK and EMEA, has left the company as around 2% to 3% of its London office of several hundred staff were laid off. Yahoo published the report, which said others who left worked in areas such as PR and marketing.

Mallett's Five Years and the London Cuts

Mallett joined Netflix just over five years ago and worked across TV shows and movies in the UK and EMEA. The report described the period as one of creative success for Netflix EMEA, citing Baby Reindeer, Adolescence and later seasons of Money Heist plus its spin-off Berlin.

Before Netflix, Mallett was CEO of ITN, which makes news for ITV, Channel 4 and 5. Prior to that she was Group COO and MD Production at BBC Studios.

The London reductions followed Netflix's disclosure a few weeks earlier that it was cutting 1,000 roles, around 6% of its global staff base. The report said product, tech, legal and HR teams were among the most impacted, and that content chief Bela Bajaria and film boss Dan Lin also left. Bajaria has been replaced by Peter Rice, who was born in the UK.

The report said Netflix has been grappling with slower growth and viewership along with declining stock.

Netflix's Studio and Revenue Scale

According to akta.pro company records, Netflix held a topping-off ceremony in June 2026 for stages 3 and 4 at its Fort Monmouth, New Jersey studio complex, a nearly $1 billion project on a 292-acre site expected to create nearly 4,000 construction jobs and become its flagship East Coast production hub upon completion in summer 2027. The same records list Q1 2026 revenue of $12.25 billion and full-year 2026 revenue guidance of $50.7 billion to $51.7 billion.

Earlier Leadership Changes at Netflix

On November 1, 2026, Simply Wall St reported that Netflix dismissed film chief Dan Lin as part of a content leadership overhaul, following the exit of chief content officer Bela Bajaria and layoffs affecting about 1,000 employees. The London cuts and Mallett's departure were reported the following day.
