InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort Appoints Finance, Front Office and Housekeeping Managers

InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort has appointed Sarath Kumar D as finance and business support manager, Avik Roy Chowdhury as front office manager and Debaraj Rout as housekeeping manager, according to The Times of India. The resort announced the three appointments in a release.

Sarath Kumar D Takes the Finance Function

Sarath Kumar D brings more than a decade of experience in financial management, business planning and strategic operations across IHG, Marriott and Accor. In the role he oversees budgeting, forecasting, compliance and financial strategy, working with senior leadership on profitability and operational performance.

Kumar has held finance leadership positions at InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort, Aloft Bengaluru Outer Ring Road, Fairfield by Marriott Chennai, Mercure Chennai and Club Mahindra Holidays & Resorts. He led the financial management of a Rs 25 crore property renovation and implemented PeopleSoft ERP to strengthen financial reporting.

Kumar holds an MBA in finance and marketing from Anna University. The release describes his expertise as spanning financial controls, statutory compliance, cost optimisation and process improvement.

Avik Roy Chowdhury Leads Front Office

Avik Roy Chowdhury joins with over a decade of experience in front office operations, guest services and hotel leadership across IHG and Accor properties. He leads the front office team, with responsibility for guest satisfaction, operational efficiency and service performance.

Roy Chowdhury's prior roles include Crowne Plaza Bengaluru Electronic City, Holiday Inn Chennai OMR, Holiday Inn Agra, Holiday Inn Goa Candolim, Novotel Kochi Infopark and voco Jim Corbett. He is a graduate in hotel management from NSHM, Durgapur.

Debaraj Rout Heads Housekeeping

Debaraj Rout brings over 13 years of experience in housekeeping operations, team leadership and hotel pre-openings across IHG and Marriott International. He leads the housekeeping department, with emphasis on cleanliness standards and guest satisfaction.

Rout has held leadership roles at Four Points by Sheraton Nashik, Aloft Bengaluru Whitefield, Holiday Inn Express & Suites Bengaluru OMR, Holiday Inn Express Bengaluru Yeshwanthpur and Holiday Inn & Suites Bengaluru. He has managed multiple pre-opening projects, covering housekeeping set-up, standard operating procedures, staff training, inventory management and quality assurance. He holds a diploma in hotel management.
