  • The facility had $750 million drawn at close, with scheduled repayments beginning in 2031.

Kosmos Energy completed the amendment and extension of its reserve-based lending facility at $1.2 billion, with $750 million drawn at close and final maturity moved to April 2033, the company said in a FinancialContent Business Page report on November 2, 2026.

How the Kosmos Facility Was Restructured

The amended facility keeps total commitments at $1.2 billion. Its tenor of roughly six and a half years pushes the final maturity from December 2029 to April 2033, and the facility size begins to amortize after three years. At the current drawn amount, scheduled repayments would start in 2031.

The facility is secured against Kosmos Energy's production assets in Ghana. Initial pricing is the Secured Overnight Financing Rate plus 4.5% for the first three years, a reduction of 0.25% from the current margin. The company said the facility was oversubscribed and that the lending syndicate continues to comprise a broad group of international banks, most of them part of its banking group for over a decade.

Neal Shah, Chief Financial Officer, said: "The transaction extends a key source of liquidity out to 2033, improving our maturity profile and further strengthening our financial flexibility." Shah added that the company's focus remains on reducing leverage, enhancing liquidity and addressing remaining near-term maturities.
