ZKONG Fits Electronic Shelf Labels Across 50,000+ SKUs at New hagebaumarkt Selb

ZKONG has deployed electronic shelf labels across more than 50,000 SKUs at the newly opened hagebaumarkt Selb store in Germany, the company said in a PR Newswire announcement on October 30, 2026. The labels range from 1.3 to 4.2 inches and are supported by base stations for real-time updates.

How the Selb Store Deployment Works

The new hagebaumarkt store in Selb opened after approximately four months of refurbishment. Spanning around 7,000 m², the store carries products across multiple categories, and ESL technology was incorporated into the refurbishment plan from the outset to enable faster price updates and more accurate information across the store.

ZKONG deployed a mix of electronic shelf labels ranging from 1.3 to 4.2 inches to accommodate the store's varied displays, including shelves, hooks, freestanding fixtures, outdoor areas and warehouse-style display zones. The deployment is supported by ZKONG's base stations, which provide wireless transmission and allow product, pricing and promotional information to be updated on shelf-edge displays in real time, keeping in-store information aligned with backend data.

hagebau was founded in 1964 and operates the hagebaumarkt network across DIY, home improvement, building materials and gardening segments. The Selb project marks another step in ZKONG's expansion into the European home improvement retail sector, according to the announcement.

Hagebau's Digital Moves Across Its Network

The same records show hagebau implemented Novomind AG's Agent Assist AI system to analyze incoming customer service messages, providing sentiment analysis and response suggestions to human agents.

Hagebau's records also list integrated Click & Collect and Click & Reserve services, which let online orders be picked up at hagebaumarkt franchise locations with a 7-day hold period.
