Brugnoli, The LYCRA Company and PISSEI Unveil PaceSetter Bio-Based Cycling Kit

Brugnoli, The LYCRA Company and PISSEI unveiled PaceSetter, a cycling kit built on bio-based technical fabrics made in Italy, on October 28, 2026. B2B Marketplace reported the launch. The shorts use Br4/E1 fabric with 89% bio-based content, and Brugnoli's Br4 technology reduces water and energy consumption in dyeing and finishing by 20% against standard methods.

Inside the PaceSetter Kit and Br4/E1 Fabric

Br4/E1 combines Fulgar's EVO bio-based polyamide, 100% bio-derived from castor and corn, with Renewable LYCRA elastane. The LYCRA Company developed the fiber, which is made up of 70% bio-derived content from industrial corn and can be used on a large scale. The fiber is a bio-based version of LYCRA XTRA LIFE. Brugnoli says both raw materials deliver a reduction in climate change impact of up to 45% compared with standard fibers.

The shorts are made in Br4 technology fabric and are described with high compression, ultra-fast drying, very high breathability, odor control and UV50+ protection. The ultralight short-sleeve jersey uses Br4/02 CO PLUS fabric at 110 g/m2 with LYCRA fiber and Br4 Technology by Brugnoli, at 76% bio-based content. Brugnoli makes its fabrics at Sacconago (VA) and PISSEI makes the garments at its Agliana (PT) headquarters.
