Egypt-based climatetech startup NoorNation has closed a $1.05 million seed funding round backed by agribusiness group Linah Farms, climate tech investor Catalyst Fund and Saudi firm KBW Ventures, Wamda.com reported on October 28, 2026. Linah Farms joined the round as a customer turning shareholder.
Linah Farms Moves From Customer to Shareholder
NoorNation was founded in 2021 by Ragy Ramadan and Mohamed Khaled. The company develops decentralised clean energy and water infrastructure for agricultural businesses and underserved communities. Its flagship product, LifeBox, provides solar-powered electricity and water solutions for off-grid operations.
Linah Farms' investment follows projects involving solar-powered irrigation at its agricultural operations, renewable energy systems at its agricultural school and a solar installation at its Sultan Gardens Resort in Sharm El Sheikh. The projects include solar irrigation systems at agricultural operations in Egypt's Bahariya Oasis, a solar-and-battery installation at Linah's agricultural school and a solar power system at the Sharm El Sheikh resort.
Ramadan said the solar-powered irrigation system at Linah Farms' Bahariya Oasis operations has generated more than EGP 3 million in diesel savings, while the installation at Sultan Gardens Resort has reduced electricity costs by more than EGP 2.2 million.
The companies have also announced an agreement covering five additional solar installations with a combined capacity of approximately 1.13 MWp across the Bahariya Oasis and West Minya. The projects include solar irrigation systems and a hybrid power station. The agreement brings the combined capacity of projects delivered and under implementation for Linah Group to approximately 1.71 MWp, according to NoorNation.
The funding comes as NoorNation develops pay-per-use solar irrigation solutions for Egyptian farmers, aiming to reduce reliance on diesel-powered pumping systems. Linah Farms is also expected to support financing for this model, extending the partnership beyond its existing energy installations.
NoorNation's Earlier Funding Rounds
According to akta.pro company records, NoorNation has three funding rounds on record. KBW Ventures, the investment firm founded by Saudi Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed, backed NoorNation in 2024 for an undisclosed amount.

LifeBox Deployment Through UNESCO and Nestlé
NoorNation was selected in October 2025 for the UNESCO and Nestlé 'Youth Impact: Because You Matter' Global Youth Grant Scheme, with a six-month mentorship running from October 2025 to March 2026 to accelerate LifeBox deployment readiness. The project is led by Antoon Tarek and focuses on expanding LifeBox's impact and deployment readiness.
