Outlast Technologies has introduced Ventura, a temperature-regulating lining with heat-storage capacity exceeding 9,500 joules per square metre, for motorcycle apparel, protective gear, workwear and technical garments. B2B Marketplace reported the launch on October 27, 2026.
How Ventura Regulates Heat
Outlast Technologies said Ventura uses capsules filled with natural wax incorporated into the material. As temperatures rise, the wax undergoes a phase change and absorbs excess heat; when conditions cool or activity decreases, the stored heat is released to help maintain a balanced microclimate inside the garment.
The company said the lining's heat-storage capacity was tested in accordance with DIN EN 16806-1. Unlike conventional cool-touch fabrics that provide temporary cooling sensations, Ventura is designed to regulate temperature fluctuations over extended periods without electronics, batteries or active controls, helping reduce heat build-up before excessive perspiration occurs.
Ventura incorporates a knitted carrier made from 100 per cent recycled polyester, and the company clarified that the recycled-content claim applies specifically to the carrier material. Both the carrier and functional layer are manufactured and applied in Germany. The lining weighs approximately 250 grams per square metre, measures 158 centimetres in width and is washable at 40°C.
Outlast said the lining is particularly suited to motorcycle apparel, where riders experience rapid temperature changes between moving and stationary conditions. The company also cited potential applications in military equipment, protective clothing, workwear, premium outerwear, coats, gloves and technical garments.
Outlast's Product Record
According to akta.pro company records, Outlast introduced a new ultra-cool bedding fabric in February 2026, expanding its bedding segment with a dedicated next-to-skin cooling SKU, and in March 2026 upgraded its cooling technology by integrating a natural fiber material. The same records show more than 300 brand manufacturers use Outlast technology across bedding, apparel, footwear, seating and other sectors, and that the company holds more than 100 patents covering its temperature regulation and Aersulate insulation portfolio.
Ventura's Manufacturing Base
Outlast Technologies GmbH is based in Heidenheim an der Brenz, Germany, and was founded in 1990, according to akta.pro company records. The company licenses microencapsulated phase change material and aerogel insulation technologies to global brand manufacturers for temperature regulation in apparel, bedding, protective, medical and automotive textiles.
