New subscribers pay $12.99 per month or $129 per year.
What the Creator Studio Update Adds
Final Cut Pro for Mac now includes MotionVFX, a collection of visual effects, plug-ins, transitions, templates and motion graphics tools, and editors can open images from a timeline in Pixelmator Pro and save changes back to the project. The Content Hub adds video assets and is available in Final Cut Pro. Logic Pro for Mac gains an intelligent assistant in beta, an enhanced Stem Splitter that separates drums, and a redesigned Browser that incorporates all sounds, with music understanding and a Splice library.
Pixelmator Pro introduces Generate Fill, which transforms selected areas of an image using natural language. Keynote, Pages and Numbers add AI features in beta, including assistants that understand document context and Model Context Protocol support for workflow automation, plus stock video in the Content Hub and new premium themes and templates.
"This is our most exciting update since the launch of Apple Creator Studio," said Brent Chiu-Watson, Apple's senior director of Worldwide Product Marketing for Apps and iCloud. "Logic Pro's new Browser allows users to explore and experiment with more sounds than ever as they create music."
MotionVFX's Path Into Final Cut Pro
Apple acquired MotionVFX in March 2026 to enhance Final Cut Pro with professional effects and plugins, according to akta.pro company records. The same records list a January 2025 acquisition of Israeli company TrueMeeting for real-time 3D avatar technology from face scans.
Pricing and Free Trials
Apple Creator Studio is available on the App Store as a universal purchase, and up to six family members can share the apps and content through Family Sharing. Education pricing is $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year for college students and educators. New subscribers get a one-month free trial, and buyers of a new Mac or qualifying iPad can receive three months free.
Freeform's December Additions
Freeform adds text styles for one-step formatting and reuse across boards, custom and preset board background colors, and, arriving in December, the ability to edit images directly in Pixelmator Pro and generate editable shapes from text descriptions.
