Siemens Healthineers has begun the carve-out of its in vitro diagnostics business, which will become a standalone company called Olyrian Diagnostics, the company said in a GlobeNewswire announcement on November 5, 2026. Siemens Healthineers will also change its name to Healthineers, and the two transitions will take place in parallel.

Siemens Healthineers Sets Olyrian Diagnostics Timeline

Siemens Healthineers said the transition is expected to be completed by mid-2028. Olyrian will remain part of Siemens Healthineers during the transition, and the company said there is no change as of today to products and services, contracts, service levels, or customer points of contact. The name will be rolled out in stages, and any future changes will be communicated directly.

Siemens Healthineers said a dedicated name and brand will give the business a distinct market presence as one of the largest stand-alone diagnostics-focused companies. Olyrian will deliver diagnostic solutions for laboratory and point-of-care testing, from patient draw to population health.

"Technology creates possibilities, but people turn those possibilities into better care and outcomes for patients," said Sharon Bracken, head of Diagnostics for Siemens Healthineers. "Olyrian Diagnostics is how we'll define our next chapter."

Siemens Healthineers established its in vitro diagnostics business after acquiring three companies in 2006 and 2007, whose histories date back to as early as 1884. The business manufactures more than 16 billion tests annually across an assay portfolio that addresses nearly every major disease area.

Siemens Healthineers Diagnostics Scale in Company Records

Siemens Healthineers is a publicly traded healthcare technology company providing medical imaging, laboratory diagnostics, cancer care, and point-of-care testing solutions to hospitals and health systems across 70+ countries, according to akta.pro company records. The same records list annual research and development investment of €1.5 billion for fiscal 2021 and more than 23,000 technical intellectual property rights, including more than 14,000 granted patents as of October 2021.

Siemens Healthineers Diagnostics Under Review Before Carve-Out

FinanzNachrichten.de reported on October 27, 2026 that Siemens Healthineers faced a critical test after a period of uncertainty, with imaging and cancer therapies remaining attractive growth areas while diagnostics continued to weigh on development. Wiwo reported on November 4, 2026 that Siemens Healthineers had 2025 revenue of €23.4 billion, with China sales falling about 10% in the third quarter, and that parent Siemens plans to sell 30% of shares.

Olyrian Diagnostics Brand Rollout

Siemens Healthineers said updates will be provided as the carve-out evolves, and directed customers to olyriandx.com for information as the transition progresses.
