The Dublin-based lessor disclosed the figures in its quarterly results, Business Wire reported. Avolon's Quarter: 29 Aircraft Sold And 250 Ordered
Lease revenue for the quarter was $722 million, up 5% from $691 million a year earlier, while operating cashflow fell 5% to $512 million. Avolon acquired 10 aircraft and sold 29 during the quarter, ending the period with a further 112 aircraft agreed for sale, including 22 earmarked as the seed portfolio for Constellation Aviation. Total available liquidity stood at $14 billion, including $515 million of unrestricted cash and $7 billion in undrawn debt facilities, and the ratio of unsecured to total debt was 80%.
After the quarter ended, Avolon entered firm orders for 140 Boeing 737 MAX 10 aircraft, 75 Airbus A320neo family aircraft and 35 Airbus A330neo aircraft, and secured options on a further 100 Airbus aircraft. Pro forma for the orders, Avolon ended the quarter with 749 aircraft commitments. The Boeing order follows the FAA's delay of 737 MAX 10 certification on September 28, 2026, after a software problem, which FinancialContent Business Page said sent Boeing shares down more than 6.9%.
Constellation Aviation's $1.4 Billion Seed Portfolio
Avolon announced an agreement to form Constellation Aviation, an aircraft leasing platform, through a joint venture with I Squared Capital and a wholly owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority. On completion, which is subject to certain antitrust approvals, Constellation Aviation will acquire 22 aircraft from Avolon with a current market value of $1.4 billion. Avolon will keep a minority equity interest and act as the platform's exclusive manager and servicer.
