Aker Solutions has received a letter of award from PTSC Mechanical and Construction Limited Company for a sizeable contract covering detail design work on the Maydan Mahzam oil field redevelopment offshore Qatar, news.cision.com reported on November 5, 2026. Aker Solutions defines a sizeable contract as being between NOK 0.5 billion and NOK 1.5 billion.

Aker Solutions' Maydan Mahzam Design Scope

Aker Solutions will provide detail design services for several offshore installations under PTSC M&C's project scope, including three major topsides, four jackets and brownfield tie-in. The work will be executed by the company's engineering teams in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Mumbai, India.

The Maydan Mahzam oil field lies about 100 kilometres northeast of the Qatari coastline and 28 km southeast of Halul Island, in water depths of about 40 metres. The field, along with the nearby Bul Hanine field, was discovered in the 1960s and has been in production since 1965. Operator QatarEnergy is planning a major redevelopment project to upgrade and extend the operational life of the field, and PTSC M&C has been selected by QatarEnergy for a key package in the redevelopment program.

"This award reflects the strength of our engineering organization and our long track record of delivering complex offshore projects," said Guro Rausand, Executive Vice President of New Build at Aker Solutions. "Our team in Kuala Lumpur brings extensive offshore oil and gas experience, complemented by the capabilities of our office in Mumbai and the wider Aker Solutions organization."

Aker Solutions' Order Backlog and Revenue

Aker Solutions recorded a record first-quarter 2026 order intake of NOK 28.8 billion, equal to 2.2 times book-to-bill, lifting its secured order backlog to NOK 80.2 billion at quarter-end, according to akta.pro company records. The same records show full-year 2025 revenue of NOK 63.2 billion, 19% year-on-year growth, and first-quarter 2026 revenue of NOK 13.4 billion, down from NOK 14.4 billion in the prior-year quarter.

Earlier Aker Solutions Contract Wins

Aker Solutions won a three-year frame agreement in September 2026 to provide engineering and integrity services for BP's North Sea assets, expanding from west of Shetland to the central North Sea, Offshore News reported. In October 2026, SLB Capturi and Aker Solutions won an EPCIC contract from Hafslund Celsio to deliver a carbon capture solution at its Oslo waste-to-energy plant, with the plant expected to capture 350,000 metric tons of CO2 annually, AETOSWire reported.

When Aker Solutions Expects the Order Intake

The letter of award is subject to the signing of the final contract. Upon signing, Aker Solutions expects to book a sizeable order intake in the fourth quarter of 2026 in the Renewables and Field Development segment.
