PATEO Deploys ByteDance's 35-Billion-Parameter Doubao Model in NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor AI Box

PATEO has integrated NVIDIA Nemotron and ByteDance's 35-billion-parameter Doubao language model into its AI Box built on NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor, the company said in a PR Newswire announcement on November 3, 2026. PATEO also secured a project nomination from a leading new energy vehicle automaker, with mass production for that program expected in the second quarter of 2027.

PATEO's AI Box and Doubao Integration

At Auto China 2026 in Beijing, PATEO announced joint development of the solution with ByteDance and a leading new energy vehicle automaker. The in-vehicle model suite includes NVIDIA Nemotron 3.5 ASR for speech recognition, the Doubao mixture-of-experts model, text-to-speech synthesis and a 2-billion-parameter language model for semantic classification and request rejection.

The suite runs inference locally without a cloud connection, supporting multilingual voice interaction and real-time streaming speech recognition. PATEO's AI Agent platform combines voice, visual and sensor inputs to interpret requests and cabin conditions, and within vehicle safety permissions it can invoke cabin controls and online services. With user authorization, it can remember preferences and habits.

PATEO said the AI Box adds dedicated AI computing capacity without replacing the original main control chip, offering an upgrade path for existing vehicles. The company is also extending the platform into robotics, reporting a project nomination from a leading domestic robotics computing provider.

ByteDance's Volcano Engine led the AI cockpit market with a 45% share in the first half of 2026, according to IDC data cited by Gasgoo, driven by its Doubao model installed in over 7 million vehicles.

PATEO's Manufacturing and Partnership Record
