Total Hydrogen Solutions has unveiled the FCBG-H60, a 60kW hydrogen fuel cell generator built around a Honda fuel cell module, at the RE+Texas exhibition in Houston. Shanghai Metals Market reported the launch and the unit's eligibility for a California subsidy.
Inside the FCBG-H60 Generator
The FCBG-H60 is a standardized modular enclosure fitted with a single Honda fuel cell module, rated at 60kW per unit. It includes an interface for connecting a remote hydrogen storage system, an independent HVAC system and an insulated enclosure built to withstand extreme heat and severe cold.
The generator can run grid-connected or off-grid. Operators control it through a local touchscreen and can access operating data remotely via a cloud-based dashboard for round-the-clock monitoring. Total Hydrogen Solutions also developed a trailer version for emergency response and short-term temporary power, which supports equipment rental business models.
The company is targeting critical infrastructure, national defense projects and commercial operators. The unit follows NFPA2 requirements and completed high-temperature overheating risk verification under UL9540A testing standards, according to the report.
On compliance, the FCBG-H60 has entered the California Air Resources Board listing and was selected for the Clean Off-Road Equipment Voucher Incentive Project (CORE) platform. Businesses in the program that buy the model can apply for subsidies, which the report says lowers the upfront cost of zero-emission power equipment in California.
David Perzynski, Assistant Manager of Honda Hydrogen Carbon Neutrality Solutions, said Honda's decarbonization strategy spans the entire industry chain, with power generation a key focus. "Continued investment in fuel cell technology R&D aims to provide new solutions for sites with insufficient grid coverage that are difficult to electrify," he said. Perzynski said the two teams will steadily advance project development and plan to launch the hybrid energy power generation system to the market in 2026.
Total Hydrogen's Earlier Product Launches
According to akta.pro company records, Total Hydrogen released a Modular PEM Hydrogen Production System in March 2025 for off-grid distributed home energy storage and small commercial energy storage. In February 2025, the company launched a Smart Hydrogen Generator for laboratory gas chromatography applications, aimed at research and analytical instrument users globally.
The same records list Total Hydrogen's headquarters in Burlington, Canada, with an estimated revenue under $1 million and an estimated valuation of $10 million-$50 million.
Enapter and Texas Plant Moves
In October 2026, Enapter won Total Hydrogen Solutions as its distributor in the US, Fuelcellsworks reported. In September 2026, POWER Magazine reported that a high-voltage cable theft during construction forced a replacement at Total Hydrogen Solutions' Katy, Texas plant, which was nearing energization.
2026 Market Launch Planned
Perzynski said the teams plan to officially launch the hybrid energy power generation system to the market in 2026. The FCBG-H60's trailer version supports equipment rental business models, and the unit's CORE selection lets participating businesses apply for subsidies.
