MicroVision Expands FieldAI Collaboration as FieldAI Buys MOVIA Sensors
By News Desk ·
Key takeaways
- FieldAI purchased MicroVision MOVIA sensors for development and evaluation across government and industrial autonomous robotics.
- FieldAI's Federal team tested MicroVision's IRIS long-range lidar on autonomous ground vehicles and demonstrated MOVIA Air Plus mapping with the Robinson Unmanned Spirit drone.
- MicroVision CEO Glen DeVos said the portfolio spans long-range perception, real-time 3D mapping and short-range obstacle detection for robotic systems.
MicroVision announced an expanded collaboration with FieldAI, which has purchased MOVIA sensors for development and evaluation across government and industrial autonomous robotics programs. Stock Titan published the announcement on November 2, 2026.
What FieldAI Tested and Bought
The collaboration builds on testing by FieldAI's Federal team. That work included evaluation of the IRIS long-range lidar sensor on autonomous ground vehicles and demonstrations of an extended perception solution. The demonstrated setup combined the Robinson Unmanned Spirit drone platform with the MOVIA Air Plus sensor for real-time, colorized 3D lidar mapping integrated with ATAK.
FieldAI purchased MicroVision MOVIA sensors for development and evaluation activities spanning both government and industrial autonomous robotics initiatives. The companies said they are exploring broader adoption of MicroVision's perception solutions.
"FieldAI is pioneering autonomous systems designed for some of the most demanding operational environments, and we're excited to continue expanding our collaboration across both their Federal and Industrial organizations," said Glen DeVos, CEO of MicroVision.
"The performance and versatility of MicroVision's sensing technologies have made them an important collaborator as we continue advancing autonomous capabilities across our platform portfolio," said Shehryar Khattak, Director of Technology at FieldAI.
MicroVision's Sensor Portfolio in the FieldAI Work
MicroVision describes its portfolio as covering long-range, short-range and aerial perception. DeVos said the range runs "from long-range perception for autonomous ground vehicles to real-time 3D mapping and short-range obstacle detection." The company said the portfolio provides flexibility and performance for next-generation robotic systems.
MicroVision designs solid-state and 1550nm lidar sensors, perception software and validation tools for automotive OEMs, industrial equipment manufacturers and defense contractors, according to akta.pro company records. The same records list engineering centers in Germany and Orlando and a founding date of 1993.
Earlier MicroVision Partnerships
MicroVision and Robinson Unmanned signed a joint marketing and demonstration agreement in October 2026 to integrate the MOVIA Air Plus lidar with Robinson Unmanned's SPIRIT Group 1 UAS for real-time aerial mapping, Stock Titan reported. In the same month, MicroVision and Blue-Band announced an exclusive strategic alliance to deliver lidar-powered smart infrastructure solutions for transportation agencies, Stock Titan reported.
In September 2026, MicroVision said its IRIS long-range lidar would support an Asia-Pacific autonomous mobility pilot, integrating with cameras and radar, with a pathway to the HALO sensor as the service scales, Stock Titan reported.
