By ·

Key takeaways

  • Eight additional meat and poultry companies adopted USDA's voluntary Product of USA label on October 30, 2026.
  • More than 30 companies have committed to the label since USDA launched its nationwide campaign earlier this year.
  • The new adopters include Mesorah Farms in Pennsylvania, KJ Poultry in New York and Demkota Ranch Beef in South Dakota.

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins announced on October 30, 2026 that 8 additional meat and poultry companies have adopted USDA's voluntary Product of USA label, bringing commitments past 30 since the campaign launched earlier this year. The USDA said the label identifies products born, raised, harvested and processed in the United States.

The Eight New Product of USA Adopters

The newest companies to adopt the label are Mesorah Farms of Pennsylvania, KJ Poultry of New York, Strauss Brands of South Carolina, Legacy Maker Farms of Indiana, Demkota Ranch Beef of South Dakota, Delta Pride Catfish of Mississippi, Eel River Organic Beef of California and Krogman Home Grown Meats of Illinois.

Rollins said the label is now available in all 50 states. "Every company that adopts the Product of USA label is standing with our ranchers, our processors, and our rural communities," she said. The USDA said the label complements its Strengthening Processing for U.S. Ranchers (SPUR) Program, a $500 million investment to help eligible small- and mid-sized beef processors preserve and expand domestic processing capacity, and the recently announced SPUR 2.0 Guaranteed Loan program supporting American meat and seafood.

USDA's Label Campaign in Company Records

The USDA is the federal department handling food, agriculture, nutrition, natural resources and rural development through 29 agencies, according to akta.pro company records. The same records list a July 2026 regulatory action in which the USDA joined HHS and EPA to announce an updated Memorandum of Understanding to bolster consumer protections from heavy metals and other contaminants in food.

Earlier USDA Moves This Week

The USDA announced $27 million in additional Patrick Leahy Farm to School Grants and $50 million in National School Lunch Program Equipment Assistance Grants, USDA said on October 30, 2026. On October 28, 2026, the agency linked an E. coli outbreak to Trader Joe's Tarragon Chicken Salad Wraps, sickening at least 50 people, according to Yahoo. The USDA also announced $1.34 billion in fertilizer projects under FIELDS, totaling about 1.08 million tons of annual capacity, Agweb reported on October 28, 2026.

What Comes Next for the Label

The USDA said it continues to receive strong interest from processors across the country and expects additional companies to adopt the Product of USA label in the coming months.
