Worldbox Business Intelligence launched a dataset of company profiles for virtual asset service providers on October 26, 2026, covering legal identity, ownership and control of exchanges, custodians, wallet providers and transfer services. The company said the profiles are sourced from company registries and build on a database of more than 500 million entities across over 240 jurisdictions. EIN Presswire published the announcement.

What the VASP Dataset Covers

Worldbox said the dataset addresses four requirements in VASP counterparty due diligence. The first is the right legal entity, because brand names, trading names and group companies can overlap, and the entity named in a contract should match the entity in the official registry and the one holding any licence. The second is ownership and control, covering ultimate beneficial owners, directors and parent structures above the business, often spread across several jurisdictions, including offshore ones.

The third requirement is documents: certificates of incorporation, articles and government registry extracts that a reviewer, auditor or regulator can open and read. The fourth is changes in records over time, because ownership and status can shift after onboarding, so a one-off check can go out of date.

Worldbox said VASPs fall under the anti-money laundering standards of the Financial Action Task Force, and that banks and fintechs dealing with them need to identify the company behind each one. The company said blockchain analytics tools can trace wallets and transactions but do not establish who owns or controls the company running a blockchain-based service, and that this information is held in company registries, filings and corporate documents.

"Blockchain analytics show where funds went. They do not show who stands behind the exchange that received them," said Adrian Ashurst, CEO of Worldbox Business Intelligence. "The VASP dataset is intended to answer that second question with company records that a compliance team can open and verify."

Worldbox's Registry and Cloud Delivery Records

According to akta.pro company records, Worldbox offers its business intelligence services directly through AWS Marketplace, enabling enterprise customers to subscribe, procure and integrate company data within their AWS environment, and provides native delivery of its business intelligence through Snowflake Data Cloud. The same records list a scale indicator of 400+ million unique entities in its database covering ownership, management, legal status and financials, and 100% global coverage of all countries worldwide for business intelligence.

Identity and Wallet Launches Elsewhere

Proof and Circle demonstrated an AI agent verifying identity and paying in USDC at Money20/20 in Las Vegas on October 19, 2026, using Proof's x401 identity protocol and Circle's x402 payment protocol, Crypto Briefing reported. Keeta Wallet launched business accounts on October 14, 2026, enabling companies to complete KYB checks within the wallet, with access to multi-currency balances, KTA and stablecoins, and payment rails in over 35 countries and 10 external networks, TradingView reported.

FATF's July 2026 Virtual Asset Update

FATF's July 2026 update on virtual assets says jurisdictions still struggle to identify the natural and legal persons carrying out VASP activity, and that offshore VASPs remain a persistent challenge. Worldbox said many jurisdictions with Travel Rule legislation have yet to take related supervisory or enforcement action.
