ASCAP announced a mental health member benefit with Project Healthy Minds on November 5, 2026, giving its songwriter, composer and music publisher members confidential access to therapy, support groups and wellness tools at no additional cost. The partnership was announced by PR Newswire.

How the ASCAP Member Benefit Works

Project Healthy Minds developed a discovery platform that connects individuals with mental health services. Through what the release describes as a first-of-its-kind PRO partnership, ASCAP members get curated access to the platform and can privately connect with providers.

The services cover three areas. Clinical care includes therapy and psychiatry through confidential virtual and in-person consultations. Community support covers peer-led and expert-moderated support groups in safe group settings. Daily wellness offers self-care apps and digital tools for on-demand mindfulness, meditation and habit tracking.

All current ASCAP writer and publisher members can use the benefit immediately. Members log into the ASCAP Member Access portal to reach a unique landing page on Project Healthy Minds' site, where they can browse services, take personalized assessments and connect directly with care providers.

"Creativity thrives when creators are supported - in mind, body, and spirit," said Nick Lehman, ASCAP Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy & Digital Officer. "By teaming up with Project Healthy Minds, we are delivering direct access to vetted care - removing friction so our members get meaningful support, whenever and however they need it."

Phillip Schermer, Founder and CEO of Project Healthy Minds, said: "Songwriters have helped millions of people feel less alone, and this partnership makes sure they have that same support in return."

The announcement coincides with the jump.global Summit in Los Angeles. On November 10, Cheryl "Salt" James of Salt-N-Pepa and MILCK, also known as Connie K Lim, will join Lehman for "The Empathy Bridge: A Creator-to-Executive Conversation." ASCAP will also bring members and staff to the Diplo Run Club 5K at Los Angeles State Historic Park on November 8, with members receiving a 10% discount on the entry fee.

Project Healthy Minds' Music Industry Partnerships

According to akta.pro company records, Project Healthy Minds formed a strategic partnership with Music Health Alliance in October 2025 to launch a co-branded digital platform powered by its technology, extending specialized mental health access to music industry professionals nationwide. In May 2026, Universal Music Group joined the organization's workforce mental health research initiative alongside Harvard Business School, making UMG the first music company to participate.

Earlier Steps Toward the ASCAP Benefit

In May 2026, Universal Music Group announced mental health partnerships with Amber Health and Project Healthy Minds, providing 24/7 access to clinical mental health services including crisis response, care planning and specialized referrals for its artists, songwriters and employees in North America, Billboard reported. In September 2026, Project Healthy Minds announced the Project Healthy Minds Workforce Lab, a coalition of companies and Harvard Business School researchers to build evidence on workforce mental health, according to PR Newswire.

Summit Session and Run Club Dates

The jump.global Summit session with Lehman, James and MILCK is scheduled for November 10. The Diplo Run Club 5K takes place on November 8.
