- CTO Craig Lurey said dependence on external cloud connectivity can create unacceptable operational risks for disconnected environments.
Keeper Security released Self-Managed Keeper, a self-hosted privileged access management platform for air-gapped and critical infrastructure environments, the company announced on November 5, 2026. EIN Presswire carried the announcement. The platform runs in Docker containers on customer-controlled Linux infrastructure without cloud dependencies.
What Self-Managed Keeper Runs On
Keeper Security said the deployment option targets government, defence, energy, utilities, financial services and industrial operations that keep restricted or disconnected networks. Self-Managed Keeper delivers credential management, secrets management and privileged session management through the KeeperPAM Gateway, and includes KeeperDB, the Keeper Admin Console and Keeper APIs.
The platform encrypts and decrypts credentials and secrets on users' devices, and stores them within customer-controlled infrastructure. Keeper said the setup supports data residency and internal security requirements, and lets organisations deploy privileged access management in fully disconnected OT networks, defence environments and isolated agency infrastructure.
"For organisations operating in disconnected or highly restricted environments, dependence on external cloud connectivity can create unacceptable operational risks," said Craig Lurey, CTO and Co-founder of Keeper Security. "Self-Managed Keeper brings enterprise-grade privileged access management to these environments while enabling organisations to maintain complete control over their security infrastructure."
Shane Barney, CISO of Keeper Security, said security teams can modernise how they protect critical systems without compromising the infrastructure requirements that keep those environments secure. Keeper directs organisations to its Self-Managed Keeper page to request a demo.
Keeper's Earlier Integrations and Reach
According to akta.pro company records, Keeper joined the Wiz Integration Network in June 2026 to act as the remediation engine for identity vulnerabilities surfaced by Wiz's cloud security platform. The same records list a June 2026 Microsoft Teams integration that embeds privileged access request and approval workflows in Teams, and a May 2026 ServiceNow integration for managing privileged access requests and vault records in the Service Catalog and Flow Designer. Keeper serves more than 85,000 business customers across more than 150 countries, the records show.
Keeper's Recent Product Releases
On October 30, 2026, Keeper launched an AI-based phishing warning feature for its browser extension, available as an opt-in setting in version 18.2.0, Securitybrief reported. The on-device engine identifies look-alike domains and spoofed sites, with analysis performed locally. On November 4, 2026, Itbrief reported that Keeper released iOS app version 18.1, adding support for Apple's iPhone Duo, a redesigned vault interface, autofill improvements and enterprise controls for shared folders.
