Haviland Pool & Spa to Build $26 Million Aegis USA Chemical Plant in Indiana

Haviland Pool & Spa plans to invest $26 million in a new Indiana manufacturing facility for chlorinated pool chemicals, with operations expected to begin in the first quarter of 2027. Inside INdiana Business reported the plan on November 5, 2026. The Grand Rapids, Michigan-based company did not specify where in Indiana the plant would be located or how many jobs it would create.

Inside Haviland's Aegis USA Plant

The 50,000-square-foot facility will focus on manufacturing and packaging chlorinated pool chemicals and will operate under the name Aegis USA. Haviland said the plant is designed specifically for oxidizing chemistries and will feature tableting presses, packaging lines, advanced automation equipment and dedicated material storage.

"Aegis USA raises the bar for our entire industry," Meg Post, president and CEO of parent company Haviland Enterprises, said in a news release. "Every part of this facility was designed around the safe handling of chlorine-based chemistries, and we believe it will set the new standard for pool chemical manufacturing in the United States. We're proud to lead the way."

Haviland makes pool and spa chemicals and is headquartered in Grand Rapids. The Indiana plant will be the seventh the company operates in four states. Haviland also runs three facilities in Grand Rapids, as well as locations in Kalamazoo, Michigan; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Phoenix, Arizona.

Inside INdiana Business said it reached out to the company for more information and did not receive a response at deadline Thursday. Haviland's own site lists its pool and spa chemical products.

Haviland's First-Quarter 2027 Target

Haviland expects operations at the Indiana facility to begin in the first quarter of 2027. The company has not announced the plant's location within Indiana or the number of jobs tied to the project.
