DualEntry is promoting Agents as a Service, an ERP model in which businesses pay for work completed by AI agents rather than for the number of employees accessing an application. The company set out the case in an announcement covered by Business Wire on November 5, 2026.

How DualEntry's Agents as a Service Model Works

DualEntry, the agentic ERP, describes Agents as a Service (AaaS) as a challenge to the per-seat pricing model that has defined much of enterprise software for the past two decades. Traditional ERP systems provide the tools finance teams use to perform accounting work; AI agents can take on tasks such as processing invoices, reconciling transactions, investigating discrepancies, and preparing journal entries for approval.

"SaaS was only ever competing for the software budget. Agents compete for the labor budget," said Benedict Dohmen, co-founder of DualEntry.

The company points to customer support, where companies such as Intercom offer outcome-based pricing for AI agents alongside traditional software subscriptions, as an early example of the transition. DualEntry sees a similar opportunity in finance, where businesses spend heavily on both ERP systems and the people required to operate them.

DualEntry's approach places agents within the ERP's financial architecture, allowing them to prepare accounting work while humans retain responsibility for approval and judgment. The company said approvals, period locks, and audit trails must remain enforceable regardless of whether an action originates from an employee or an agent.

DualEntry cites Slash, which manages $600 million in annual recurring revenue with a two-person finance team, and Graphite, which reduced its month-end close from 20 days to one, as examples of how modern ERP systems can support leaner financial operations. "SaaS gave every accountant a login. AaaS gives every accountant a team," Dohmen said.

DualEntry's Funding and Journal Entry Volume

According to akta.pro company records, DualEntry closed a $90 million Series A in October 2025 led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and Khosla Ventures at a reported $415 million post-money valuation, bringing total funding above $100 million. The same records show the company has processed $100 billion worth of journal entries with AI automation since launch. DualEntry was founded in 2024 and is headquartered in New York.
