Mr Cheesecake, the Tokyo cheesecake brand founded by former fine-dining chef Koji Tamura, will open its first Singapore pop-up at Ion Orchard from November 11 to December 30, with six creations priced from S$62. Channel NewsAsia reported the pop-up on November 4, 2026.

Six Cheesecakes at Ion Orchard

The Singapore pop-up will offer six creations, including matcha, caramel earl grey and tiramisu. Prices start at S$62 (US$48.45) for the Basque Cheesecake Original, made with browned butter, vanilla and brown sugar. Cream Brew Coffee is priced at S$68, with coffee beans steeped overnight in chilled fresh cream. Tea options include Caramel Earl Grey at S$68, with mascarpone, vanilla-infused cream and orange juice, and Mr Cheesecake Matcha at S$69, made with Yame matcha from Fukuoka. Rich Tiramisu at S$69 features coffee, cacao, hojicha and almond dacquoise, while Sakekasu Coconut at S$69 combines sake lees with coconut and lychee puree.

The brand says its cakes can be enjoyed frozen, partially thawed or fully thawed, with textures ranging from ice cream-like to creme brulee-like. The recipe incorporates Greek yoghurt alongside cream cheese, with tonka beans providing an aromatic note. The pop-up is brought to Singapore by Caravel Co, which also introduced Japanese dessert brand Cheese Wonder here.

Tamura spent six months working at three-Michelin-starred restaurant Mirazur in France before serving as head chef for over a year at the now-defunct one-Michelin-starred restaurant Tirpse in Tokyo. According to the brand, he was inspired to create simpler, more approachable desserts after his mother admitted she couldn't understand the elaborate dishes he prepared as a fine-dining chef. Mr Cheesecake started as an online-only business in 2018, opened its first permanent store at Tokyo Station's Gransta shopping complex in 2024, and now has five stores in Japan plus an overseas outlet in Hong Kong. The brand says it has sold more than one million cheesecakes in Japan so far.

Mr Cheesecake's Store Count and Sales

According to akta.pro company records, Mr Cheesecake operates four permanent stores in Japan (GINZA SIX, Gransta Tokyo, Haneda Airport and Nagoya Sakae) plus one in Hong Kong. The same records show series cumulative sales exceeded 1,000,000 units since the brand's founding in 2018, and that CREAMY BAKED CHEESECAKE cumulative sales exceeded 200,000 units as of 2026. In June 2026, Mr Cheesecake opened its first permanent store in the Tokai region at the HAERA commercial facility in Nagoya's Sakae district, becoming the brand's fourth permanent store location.
