Amazon Web Services and Elitery held the grand finale of the AWS CendekiAwan program at Universiti Malaya, where 20 student finalist teams from four Malaysian universities pitched generative AI solutions built on Amazon Bedrock. TradingView carried the announcement on November 4, 2026.

How the CendekiAwan Finale Worked

The Elitery and Amazon Web Services program began at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation and expanded through self-learning, workshops and showcase sessions at Multimedia University, Nilai University and Universiti Malaya. Students used AWS developer tools including PartyRock, Kiro and Amazon Bedrock to build working prototypes from scratch.

Finalists competed in five categories: Smart Education, Digital Health, Sustainable Environment & Climate, Financial Inclusion & SME, and GovTech & Social Impact. The showcase drew decision-makers from government, higher education and industry, including representatives from Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur.

"CendekiAwan reflects our belief that AI should be built and deployed by hands and minds like these students to solve real challenges facing communities across Malaysia," said Daniel Zhang, Regional Data Center Operations Leader Malaysia at AWS.

Kresna Adiprawira, President Director of Elitery, said: "Through CendekiAwan, we help students move beyond learning AI concepts to building practical applications that address real-world challenges." Ts. Kamariah binti Kamarudin, a DBKL representative, said the training program supports Kuala Lumpur's vision of "A Prosperous City for All by 2030" through talent development and knowledge exchange.
