XTB CEO Omar Arnaout Says Broker Was 'a Bit Late' to UK as Indonesia Sign-Ups Trail Only Poland

Key takeaways

  • XTB's third-quarter profit rose fourfold to PLN 213.7 million, about $54.4 million.
  • CEO Omar Arnaout said XTB was 'simply a bit late' to the UK market, where its revenue is about 3% of Trading 212's.
  • Indonesia now signs up more accounts each month than any XTB market except Poland, Arnaout said.

XTB's third-quarter profit rose fourfold to PLN 213.7 million, about $54.4 million, and chief executive Omar Arnaout said the Polish broker was "simply a bit late" to the UK market. Arnaout spoke at a results conference on Thursday, TradingView reported, after the profit figure was released on Wednesday.

XTB's Small UK Footprint

XTB's British unit more than doubled its revenue to £8.64 million, about $11.6 million, in 2025, while Trading 212 booked £277.6 million in the UK over the same year. That puts XTB's British revenue at about 3% of its rival's, by FinanceMagnates.com's calculation. Arnaout said competing with established local firms would take very large sums and that he would approach the market very cautiously.

XTB launched a zero-fee stocks and shares ISA in December 2024 and added a cash ISA this year. It ran 11,767 ISA and cash ISA accounts at the end of September, up from 10,717 three months earlier, according to its quarterly reports. The gain of about 1,050 accounts compares with the 152,000 customers AJ Bell added in the 12 months to September.

Indonesia's Rising Sign-Ups

Indonesia now signs up more accounts each month than any XTB market except Poland, Arnaout said. "If my memory serves me correctly, only the Polish market signs up more accounts" each month than Indonesia, he said. XTB bought a 90% stake in local broker Eagle Capital Futures in January 2024 and won approval to offer contracts for difference this summer.

XTB is one of several foreign brokers that entered Indonesia's regulated futures market since 2024. Plus500 took over Global Intra Berjangka, a local broker that had stopped taking new clients, as FinanceMagnates.com reported last December. Bappebti rated 67 active futures brokers in the second quarter, and the market had 70,676 active retail customers in November 2024, up 53.93% from a year earlier, FM Intelligence data show.

XTB's Client Base and Revenue

According to akta.pro company records, XTB serves more than 2.5 million clients globally, with 74% growth in new clients year-over-year as of December 31, 2025. The Warsaw-listed broker offers 11,600-plus instruments and reported full-year 2025 record revenue of PLN 2.15 billion despite a 24.8% decline in net profit to PLN 644.2 million.

Earlier XTB Results and Approvals

On October 29, 2026, TradingView reported that XTB's third-quarter operating income of PLN 623.3 million and net profit of PLN 213.7 million were driven by client growth and commodity CFD results, with higher marketing and expansion spending offsetting the gains. On October 26, 2026, TradingView reported that Poland's KNF unanimously approved XTB to manage client investment portfolios and that the broker opened spot crypto trading in Spain with more than 40 assets.

What Comes Next for XTB

Arnaout said XTB stepped up marketing for Indonesian CFDs this week and should know within four to five weeks how much demand they draw. Indonesia is one of the markets in the campaign with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Tyson Fury that started on October 1. XTB is planning next year's budgets now, with Germany set for a significant increase.
