Roblox has appointed Joel Neoh as Managing Director for Southeast Asia and Oceania, the company said in an announcement published by Hrtoday. Neoh brings more than 15 years of leadership experience across technology, digital platforms, fintech, e-commerce, venture capital and consumer businesses. The appointment places him in regional leadership at Roblox.

Neoh's Path From Prenetics to Roblox

Before joining Roblox, Neoh served as Managing Director and Chief Consumer Officer at Prenetics, a health sciences company, where he spent approximately two years leading consumer-focused initiatives. At Prenetics he contributed to the development of IM8 and CircleDNA, supporting the company's consumer health and wellness portfolio. He also served as Managing Partner at Europa Sports Partners, a US-based sports nutrition and wellness distribution business associated with Prenetics' expansion into the American market, and has been an investor in Prenetics since 2014.

Neoh founded Fave, a Southeast Asian consumer fintech platform, and spent approximately eight years building the business. Fave developed digital payment and merchant engagement tools and expanded across more than 50 cities in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and India before its acquisition by Pine Labs. Earlier, Neoh co-founded Rev Asia, a Malaysian digital media group, and SAYS.com, a social news and content platform that Catcha Group acquired and folded into Rev Asia.

Neoh spent more than four years at Groupon in executive roles across Asia-Pacific, including Head of Asia Pacific, International Vice President for Asia Pacific North, Regional Vice President and General Manager for Southeast Asia and India, and Chief Executive Officer for Taiwan. He is also a Founding Partner at First Move, an early-stage venture capital firm established in 2023 that invests at the intersection of consumer technology and artificial intelligence, and has mentored at Endeavor for more than a decade.

Roblox's Regional and Safety Record

Roblox's platform changes and regional moves are set out in akta.pro company records. In June 2026 the company globally launched age-based Roblox Kids accounts for ages 5-8 and Roblox Select accounts for ages 9-15, with tiered content restrictions, default-disabled chat for the youngest cohort and expanded parental controls, following limited pilots in Australia, Indonesia, the Netherlands and New Zealand. The same month, Russia restored access to the platform after the Digital Ministry concluded the company had complied with local legal requirements.

Earlier Roblox Developments

Malaysia's communications regulator, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, said in October 2026 it was reviewing whether further regulation of online gaming platforms including Roblox was needed to strengthen child protection, The Edge Malaysia reported. Roblox had rolled out global age checks and Kids and Select accounts in January 2026, though complaints about incorrect age classifications persisted, TechRound reported in October 2026. KFC UK & Ireland launched its first Roblox experience that month, an age-gated offering that drew over 15,000 visits and a 94% rating, Retail Technology Innovation Hub reported.

Roblox's Leadership Team

Roblox was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in San Mateo, according to company records. David Baszucki is co-founder, CEO and chairman; Naveen Chopra is chief financial officer; and Marc Johnson is chief communications officer. The company's own announcements are published on its corporate site.
