PrimeBOT signed a strategic partnership with Tencent to integrate its consumer robots with the WorkBuddy AI platform, announced at the 2026 Tencent Global Digital Ecosystem Conference. Gasgoo reported that the pairing covers cloud-edge-device collaborative systems for personal robots.
How the PrimeBOT and WorkBuddy Loop Works
Users issue commands in natural language, WorkBuddy parses the intent and breaks down the tasks, and PrimeBOT's robots carry them out using environmental awareness and physical capabilities. The setup links digital comprehension to physical action, with Tencent supplying the AI and PrimeBOT providing the hardware gateway into the physical world.
WorkBuddy's ecosystem already holds more than 100,000 skills, and the integration extends that library into PrimeBOT's app development. Users can orchestrate and create robot skills through natural language, which the company said lowers the barrier to entry for developers building robotic applications.
Following the integration, PrimeBOT's Q1 and T1 models support Tencent Meeting, WeChat Reading, QQ Music and picture-book generation. In the office, the robots can check calendars or order coffee; at home, they play music or narrate stories. Tian Hua, PrimeBOT's CEO, cited picture-book creation as an example: WorkBuddy generates the story, illustrations and robot gestures, and the robot narrates it to children.
"For robots to truly enter households, three hurdles must be cleared: mass-producing the hardware, scaling brain-level intelligence, and building out the app ecosystem," Tian said. He argued the solution lies in co-evolution across hardware, AI and ecosystem.
Tencent's Hunyuan Models Behind WorkBuddy
According to akta.pro company records, Tencent launched Hunyuan Hy3 in July 2026, a 295B-parameter Mixture-of-Experts reasoning model with 21B activated parameters, 256K context and Apache 2.0 open-source licensing. The model was deployed across about 50 products including WorkBuddy, CodeBuddy, Yuanbao, Marvis and ima, with API pricing set at RMB 1 per million input tokens. Tencent's company profile lists its headquarters in Shenzhen and its founding in 1998.
Tencent's Recent Platform and Partnership Moves
Tencent opened its Beacon AI data analysis platform to outside users on October 30, 2026, according to Pandaily; the platform had been used by more than 100 internal teams and lets users ask plain-language questions to generate dashboards and trace metric changes. On the same day, Tencent Hunyuan published a technical report for Hy-Nomas, an open 8B interactive video world model, and released Hy-Nomas-Bench, a 280-case benchmark, Pandaily reported. On October 29, 2026, Tencent signed a Visa framework for AI-powered cross-border payments and shopping, a memorandum covering consumer-controlled agentic transactions with no financial commitments or rollout timetable disclosed, according to TradingView.
