Inside Mivi's Fab City Plant
Mivi is an India-based audio manufacturer that designs and produces TWS earbuds, soundbars and speakers end-to-end in Hyderabad, selling through its own site, Amazon India and Flipkart. The new unit is funded through its parent company, Avishakaran Industries Pvt Ltd, and will support manufacturing across the company's consumer electronics portfolio.
Mivi said the investment is aimed at strengthening domestic design, technology and production capabilities and at contributing to the Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives. Telangana IT and industries minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, who inaugurated the facility, said the state was becoming a preferred destination for electronics investment, citing digital and physical infrastructure, a skilled talent pool, ease of doing business, research institutions and global industry presence.
"With homegrown success stories like Mivi, Telangana has the ecosystem to innovate and manufacture not just for India, but for global markets," Sridhar Babu said. He said Mivi has sought another 100 acres of land for further expansion, and quoted NITI Aayog estimates that India's electronics manufacturing sector could reach $500 billion by 2030.
Mivi co-founder Midhula Devabhaktuni said the company, which recently entered the mobile segment with 5G smartphones, would keep investing in its own technology and manufacturing capabilities with Indian consumers at the centre. Co-founder Viswanadh Kandula said the facility reflected the company's confidence in India as an electronics manufacturing hub. Mivi started with audio in 2016 and now covers true wireless earbuds, neckbands, headphones, speakers and soundbars, with proprietary technologies such as 3D Stage and Mivi AI.
Mivi's Manufacturing Record
According to akta.pro company records, Mivi started India's largest audio R&D unit in 2024, expanding in-house engineering capacity for proprietary audio and AI technology development. The same records describe the company's 2020 unit as India's first and only audio design and manufacturing unit, and its portfolio as 100% Made in India with no dependency on imported products since 2020. The records put its workforce at more than 1,500 by 2022, up from seven people at the first manufacturing plant launch in 2020, with 85% women employees.
Mivi's Move Into Smartphones
Mivi launched its first smartphone, the Mivi One 5G, in India at Rs 14,999, Business Standard reported in September 2026, with a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip, a 6,000mAh battery, a 50MP rear camera and Android 16, and sales starting on October 8 on Flipkart. The Tribune reported that the 4GB+128GB variant started at ₹11,999 during Flipkart Big Billion Days, with higher RAM options at ₹13,499 and ₹14,999.
Telangana's Manufacturing Targets
Sridhar Babu said Telangana's manufacturing sector recorded about 7.7% growth in 2025, referring to the state's target of becoming a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047.
