Stratec SE signed an agreement on October 30, 2026 to sell its Diatron MI subsidiary to a consortium of Indian investors for a fixed purchase price of €10.0 million plus earn-out payments, with closing expected in the fourth quarter of 2026. TradingView carried the announcement. Stratec is a German OEM manufacturer of automated analyzer systems, microfluidic consumables and IoT software for in-vitro diagnostics and life sciences partners, according to company records.
What the Diatron MI Sale Covers
The sale comprises all Diatron products in hematology and clinical chemistry. Diatron's OEM business in molecular and immunodiagnostics was carved out before the sale and remains part of the Stratec Group. Stratec said the sold business is expected to generate sales of around €20.0 million and adjusted EBIT of around minus €10.0 million for the 2026 financial year.
Stratec will recognize non-cash impairments of €44.1 million in the third quarter of 2026 because of measures relating to the sale. The transaction is also expected to produce a negative non-cash deconsolidation effect of between €4.0 million and €9.0 million in the fourth quarter of 2026. FinanzNachrichten.de reported that the board revised its 2026 outlook to a 13-15% adjusted EBIT margin.
Sales and earnings from the divested business, the impairments and the deconsolidation effect will be allocated retrospectively to discontinued operations for 2026. Stratec expects stable to slightly higher sales on a constant-currency basis in 2026, measured against pro-forma sales of €223.5 million for 2025 adjusted to exclude the sold business. The company said its medium-term targets, communicated at the beginning of the year, are no longer being upheld and will be updated at the latest with the 2026 Annual Report.
Stratec's Diatron Install Base and Recovery Plan
According to akta.pro company records, more than 40,000 Diatron hematology analyzers are in laboratory use globally. The same records show Stratec enlarged its Board of Management in August 2025 to support a recovery plan targeting a 13% EBIT margin by 2028, after revenue declined 2.6% to EUR 251 million in fiscal 2025. Stratec was founded in 1979 and is headquartered in Birkenfeld, Germany.
Stratec's Path to the Divestiture
Stratec reported a 5.1% decline in first-half 2026 revenue to €112.5 million, driven by customer inventory optimization and weaker consumable sales, while profitability held near prior-year levels, Investing.com reported on August 14, 2026. On September 11, 2026, FinanzNachrichten.de described the company's turnaround potential, with about 15% growth in analysis systems expected in the first half and a service and parts business that was lagging but should recover after inventory corrections. FinanzNachrichten.de reported on October 20, 2026 that an analyst upgraded the rating to HOLD and raised the price target to EUR 22 from EUR 21, citing a balanced risk-reward ratio.
Stratec's November 12 Quarterly Statement
Stratec will publish its quarterly statement for the first nine months of 2026 on November 12, 2026. The company expects to report sales of €164.9 million and an adjusted EBIT margin of 8.3% for that period, both still including contributions from the sold business.
