Sprouts Farmers Market plans to open a 23,300-square-foot store at the Trevose Corporate Center on Street Road in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, with the township having provided all necessary approvals as of October 29. Yahoo reported the plan, which still needs a PennDOT highway occupancy permit before work can begin.

Sprouts' Bensalem Store Plan

Land development plans submitted by the site's owner, CCT Partnership, call for demolishing three existing office buildings and redeveloping the site with the grocery store and a second 12,600-square-foot building with spaces for a restaurant and a coffee shop with a drive-thru. At an October 2025 township council meeting, Matthew McHugh, an attorney representing CCT Partnership, said the grocery building is intended for Sprouts Farmers Markets.

Mayor Joe DiGirolamo confirmed the approvals in an interview. "We're anxious for them to get moving on that. Sprouts is a good market to have," he said. "It's a great asset to our commercial community." Sprouts did not respond to a request for information on its targeted opening date, and the store would be the first Sprouts in Bucks County.

Bensalem is also courting Trader Joe's, asking residents on the township's Facebook page to tell the chain they would welcome and support a store. DiGirolamo cited the former Neil A. Armstrong Middle School site and the old Nifty Fifty's property, both on Street Road, as possible locations. "We've been trying for years to get them to come to this area . . . I think that would be a good fit. And I think it would be a good competition for Sprouts," he said. Trader Joe's operates stores in 42 states and Washington, DC, and its closest locations to Bucks County are in North Wales, Princeton and Jenkintown.

Sprouts' Store Count and Sales

According to akta.pro company records, Sprouts operated 483 stores across 25 states as of the first quarter of 2026, after opening six new stores in the quarter including its first in New York. The company reported $8.8 billion in net sales for fiscal 2025, up 14% year over year, and $2.33 billion in first-quarter 2026 revenues, up 4.1% year on year. Its stated goal is 1,000 stores nationwide.

Sprouts' Recent Expansion Run

Sprouts opened five new stores in California, Tennessee, Arizona and Texas in October 2026, with two locations opening October 23 and three more on October 30, Progressive Grocer reported. The chain also opened stores in Newnan and Conyers, Georgia, and Bedford, Texas, EIN Presswire reported on October 19, 2026. On October 27, 2026, nj reported that Sprouts will open a Hamilton Township store on November 6 at 372 Route 33, with a ribbon-cutting at 6:45 a.m. and doors opening at 7 a.m.

What Comes Next for Bensalem

The Bensalem project awaits a PennDOT highway occupancy permit before construction can begin. Sprouts' Hamilton Township store is scheduled to open November 6.
