Rural King Overhauls Rewards Loyalty Program, Drops Base Points From November 1

Rural King is refreshing its Rural King Rewards loyalty program from November 1, adding members-only pricing, birthday and anniversary rewards, early access to sales and easier purchase lookup and returns. The family-owned retailer announced the changes on October 30, PR Newswire reported. Rewards membership is free to join.

What Changes For Rural King Rewards Members

The refresh builds on Rural King's Hot Deals initiative, which launched in September at participating stores in Florida, Alabama and Georgia. That program offered members steep discounts on 10 everyday essentials, including pet food, livestock feed, household supplies and automotive products, with prices at least 25% below normal market prices.

"Our customers have told us they want more ways to save, and we've been listening," said Alex Melvin, chairman of Rural King. "The response to Hot Deals in the Southeast showed us just how much our customers value meaningful savings on everyday essentials."

Under the refreshed program, members get exclusive opportunities to save on products throughout the store, special perks tied to birthdays and membership anniversaries, and early access to select promotions and events. Simplified access to purchase records supports easier purchase lookup and returns.

"We want Rural King Rewards to be about more than earning points," Melvin said. "It's about giving our customers real value, whether that's a better price on something they need, early access to a great sale or a special reward just for being a member."

As part of the transition, members will no longer earn points on eligible purchases under the base Rural King Rewards program beginning November 1. Any remaining points not converted into rewards will expire. Previously issued rewards remain valid for 60 days from their issuance dates and can be redeemed in stores or online, subject to program terms. Rural King Visa cardholders will continue to earn points through the Rural King Visa Rewards program.

Rural King's Store Count And Partner Deals

Rural King operates more than 160 stores in 18 states, according to the company. According to akta.pro company records, the retailer had 150 stores across 17 states as of April 2026, up from 140 stores in January 2026, and celebrated its 150th store opening in Sebring, Florida, that month. The same records list a June 2026 distribution partnership with Sunshine Mills making Sportsman's Pride Field Master dog food and treats available across Rural King stores in 17 states, and an April 2026 strategic partnership with PetMed Express to launch a co-branded pet pharmacy platform across its stores and digital channels.

Rural King's Hot Deals And Store Openings

Rural King launched 10 Hot Deals for Rewards members in Florida, Alabama and Georgia running September 3 to October 28, with new lineups planned every 60 days, PR Newswire reported. The retailer opened its first New York store in Elmira, with grand opening festivities from September 25 to 27, PR Newswire reported. On October 15, Wicomico County Executive Julie Giordano and Salisbury Mayor Randy Taylor announced Rural King is tentatively planning a new store at The Centre at Salisbury mall, pending final agreements and approvals, Yahoo reported.
