Charitable Impact won the Gamechanger: Company Culture Award at BC Tech's 2026 Technology Impact Awards, presented by the BC Tech Association at a gala in Vancouver on October 29, 2026. GlobeNewswire carried the announcement on October 30. The platform has facilitated over $1.8 billion in donations since 2011.
Charitable Impact's Award Night at Parq Vancouver
Charitable Impact is a Vancouver-based non-profit that runs a free, web-based donor-advised fund platform called the Impact Account, which lets Canadians deposit, manage and direct charitable dollars to any registered Canadian charity. The company was founded in 2015 and has between 51 and 100 employees, according to company records.
The October 29 gala brought more than 800 founders, executives, investors and industry partners to Parq Vancouver. Charitable Impact took the Company Culture Award among four finalists. The other finalists were Freightera, Global Relay and Clarity. Freightera, a Vancouver-based freight marketplace founded in 2014, said it received nominations for Industry Innovation and Company Culture at the same awards, according to EIN Presswire.
"Culture is always in the room, whether you are intentional about it or not," said John Bromley, Founder and CEO of Charitable Impact. "We aspire to use ours to help achieve what we set out to do: increase access to, participation in, and benefit from charitable giving."
Dan Brodie, Chief Operating Officer, pointed to teams in Canada, India, the UK and Ireland. Alison Lydell, Head of People, said a strong culture "isn't something you can create with a statement on a wall." The award follows Charitable Impact's recognition as one of Canada's Most Admired Corporate Cultures in 2024.
Charitable Impact's Giving and Platform Growth
Charitable Impact acquired Orgmatch in September 2025 for an undisclosed amount, a move that likely strengthened charity discovery, matching and donor-data capabilities, according to akta.pro company records. The platform also launched a Charitable Investment Account, an add-on module that lets donors invest and grow charitable assets before granting them out, and built out a Giving Groups collaborative giving feature.
Canadians donated $188 million into Impact Accounts in 2025. More than $123 million was directed to charities that year. The platform supports any registered charity in Canada and has 230,000+ users, with over 16,400 registered charities benefiting since 2011.
What Comes After the BC Tech Gala
Charitable Impact said it congratulates fellow finalists Freightera, Global Relay and Clarity and thanked the BC Tech Association and award sponsor SAP. The company's giving platform is described on its own site.
