teamLab will open its first permanent museum in the United States at OCVIBE in Anaheim, California, in 2030, the art collective and the district announced on October 29, 2026. PR Newswire carried the announcement. The museum will span approximately 110,000 square feet.
Inside teamLab's Anaheim Museum Plan
OCVIBE is a privately funded, $5 billion 100-acre mixed-use entertainment district under development in Anaheim surrounding Honda Center, with its first phase opening in early 2027. teamLab, founded in 2001, is an international art collective working across art, science, technology and the natural world. The museum will be designed by smith-clementi, OCVIBE's master planners, as a sculptural building anchoring one end of the district and visible from the freeway. LPA is working with smith-clementi as Architect of Record and directly with teamLab on the exhibitions.
"It is with great joy that we announce the opening of teamLab's first major museum in North America, located at OCVIBE in Anaheim," said Toshiyuki Inoko, Founder of teamLab. Dan Young, Executive Director of Development at OCVIBE, said bringing teamLab to the district "reflects the importance we've placed on integrating arts and culture into the district's master plan." Prtimes reported the museum will cover about 10,000 square meters and open in 2030, with OCVIBE's first phase opening in 2027.
OCVIBE's Cultural and Culinary Build-Out
According to akta.pro company records, OCVIBE partnered with FUTUREFORMS as Arts Master Planning Firm in May 2026 to launch a 70+ piece public art program designed to anchor the district's cultural identity. In June 2026, OCVIBE signed Kiln as anchor tenant for a full floor of The Weave mass-timber office building, with Cushman & Wakefield and JLL brokering the transaction. The same records describe OCVIBE as a 100-acre development transforming the area around Honda Center, with 20 acres of open space and 3 miles of walking trails.
Earlier Additions to the District
In October 2026, Chef Tim Hollingsworth was reported by Ocbj to be opening a wood-fire kitchen concept at OCVibe in 2027, making him the third restaurateur to join the lineup. Earlier that month, OCVIBE unveiled the design for SENA, Anaheim's first Autograph Collection hotel, expected to open in 2029 with a José Andrés signature restaurant and Sage Hospitality Group operations, PR Newswire reported. In September 2026, PR Newswire reported that Osen Hospitality Group, led by Chef Damon Cho, will open Osen Urban Table in OCVIBE's Urban Park and Osen Handroll in Katella Commons.
What Opens First at OCVIBE
OCVIBE will welcome its first guests in March 2027, when the 5,000-person capacity concert hall opens, followed by Katella Commons, the 50,000-square-foot chef-driven market hall. Later in 2027, The Weave office building, home to co-working operator Kiln, will open along with the first phase of restaurants, the public art program and public spaces. The full district is scheduled for completion in 2033.
