Geolava won the public works category of the 2026 North Texas Connected Innovation Pitch Competition, one of three category winners announced on October 29, 2026. The San Francisco company was named alongside Vaidio for transportation and logistics and Sensoneo for environmental solutions, according to PR Newswire.
How the North Texas Pitch Competition Worked
The live competition took place at Hall Tower in Frisco on October 21 and brought together nearly 200 city leaders, department teams, investors, corporate partners, research institutions, entrepreneurs and regional collaborators. Participating cities began by defining operational challenges, and companies responded with deployment-ready solutions. Out of 53 applicants representing 38 cities, seven countries and four continents, six finalists presented.
Geolava competed against SYBor Tech in public works. The company applies a world model to the built environment that analyzes how assets change and predicts potential failure, giving infrastructure owners earlier insight into risks affecting facilities, roads, bridges and other physical assets. Vaidio's AI Vision platform turns existing cameras into monitoring and analytics tools for traffic-flow analysis, vehicle and pedestrian counts, incident detection and crosswalk safety. Sensoneo combines fill-level monitoring, software, route planning and asset management for waste collection.
Jennifer Sanders, executive director of the North Texas Innovation Alliance, said: "The goal was never simply to name a winner. It was to create a practical bridge between the challenges our cities are working to solve and the companies ready to help solve them." Pierre Mombeleur, co-founder and VP of operations at Geolava, said the team was "excited to be part of this community, and to bring data-driven intelligence for smart infrastructure to North Texas."
Geolava's Funding and Expansion Record
Geolava is a San Francisco-based spatial AI company founded in 2023 that fuses satellite, aerial, drone and street-level imagery with regulatory data to deliver property and infrastructure intelligence for asset managers, REITs, lenders, brokerage firms and government agencies, according to akta.pro company records. The same records show a $4.3 million seed round led by Luge Capital, with participation from Suffolk Technologies and E2MC, announced July 29, 2025, and a $7 million pre-seed round with backing from Nvidia Inception and Plug and Play announced September 24, 2024. Geolava emerged from stealth in July 2025 and established engineering bases in Toronto and Montreal while retaining its San Francisco headquarters.
Follow-Up Talks After the Frisco Event
North Texas Connected partners will begin follow-up discussions in the coming weeks, and additional outcomes and pilot activity will be shared as agreements advance. A curated salon dinner in McKinney followed the competition, bringing finalists together with city and economic-development leaders, investors and ecosystem partners.
