Framnäsbadet Replaces 1970s Facility
The new swim center will replace the municipality's previous facility dating back to the 1970s. The contract includes an option for an outdoor swimming pool adjacent to the center.
"During the design phase, NCC has partnered with Lidköping Municipality to develop solutions that help reduce the facility's operating costs. We are now building a modern, resource-efficient facility with ambitious goals for the future," said Niklas Sparw, Head of NCC Building Sweden.
The Framnäsbadet swim center forms part of the ongoing development of the Framnäs area in Lidköping. NCC has previously helped shape the harbor area, having delivered both a waterfront promenade and a beach park. NCC is currently conducting nine swim center projects across Sweden, and has delivered a total of 21 projects in Sweden since 2010, all handed over on time, with the right quality and at the agreed-upon cost.
Production will commence in the fourth quarter of 2026 and completion is scheduled for the end of 2029. A groundbreaking ceremony is planned for November. The order value will be registered among orders in the NCC Building Sweden business area in the fourth quarter of 2026.
