Xpanner announced the commercial launch of the X1 Piling R6, a fully automated pile driving machine for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage construction sites, on October 26, 2026. pv magazine USA reported the launch, which the company said cuts cycle time by 45% compared with the previous generation.
How the X1 Piling R6 Automates Pile Driving
The X1 pairs Xpanner's automation hardware and software with an Everstar R6 crawler base machine to automate pile positioning, travel, alignment, hammering, and depth control in one execution cycle. Operators upload a pile schedule and coordinate file, guide the machine to the start of a row, and start work with a single command. Dual-antenna GNSS receivers with Real-Time Kinematic support deliver centimeter-level positioning and orientation accuracy, and an onboard industrial controller on a real-time operating system navigates the crawler to each target, aligns the mast, and drives piles to specified elevation and plumb tolerances without personnel near the mast.
The stack builds on Xpanner's PD10 platform, which has been deployed across more than 67 U.S. job sites by major engineering, procurement, and construction contractors. A 130 horsepower engine runs at a maximum hydraulic pressure of 2,900 psi and a flow rate of 31.7 gallons per minute, and a high-frequency hydraulic hammer delivers up to 929 foot-pounds of impact energy. The system accommodates pile lengths up to 23 feet with a maximum driving depth of 15.7 feet, and optional mast configurations support down-the-hole drilling, auger drilling from 2.6 to 13.8 inches in diameter, and ground screwing.
"Solar and BESS builders are racing to bring new power online for the grid and for AI data centers, and they can't find enough skilled crews to keep up," said Henri Lee, co-founder and CEO of Xpanner. "X1 lets one operator drive every pile plumb with a single touch, keeps people away from the mast, and logs each pile as it goes in."
On-site interaction relies on a 10.1-inch, sunlight-readable touch display, and the hardware connects to Xpanner Connect, a web-based project management dashboard that logs spatial coordinates, driving depth, and plumb status for each driven pile in real time. The X1 Piling R6 is commercially available starting October 26, 2026, through an Automation-as-a-Service subscription model that bundles the crawler chassis, automation hardware, cloud software, site validation, and direct on-site support.
Xpanner's Funding and Revenue Records
Xpanner closed an $18 million Series B bridge led by Korea Investment Partners with KB Investment in May 2026, bringing cumulative funding to $38 million, according to akta.pro company records. The same records show cumulative revenue of more than $31 million, with over 90% earned in the U.S., including $21 million in 2025 and $8 million in the first quarter of 2026. Xpanner launched the X1 Kit in August 2025 as a retrofit automation solution priced under the AaaS subscription model, with first deliveries to a Texas solar site.
Earlier Xpanner Launches and Funding
Xpanner launched Shake-Out, a GNSS-guided pile distribution application for skid-loader operators on utility-scale solar projects, in August 2026, GlobeNewswire reported. In July 2026, pv magazine USA reported the launch of Shake-Out, a satellite-guided pile distribution application for skid-loader operators on utility-scale solar construction projects. Xpanner raised $18 million in a Series B bridge round led by Korea Investment Partners in May 2026, bringing total funding to $38 million since its 2020 inception, CryptoRank reported.
