Made Scientific to Deploy CARR Biosystems UniFuge Centrifuges Across Two Cell Therapy Sites

By ·

Key takeaways

  • Made Scientific will integrate multiple CARR UniFuge single-use centrifugation systems at its Princeton, NJ, and East Norriton, PA, facilities.
  • CARR Biosystems named Made Scientific a preferred CDMO for UniFuge development studies, with joint work planned on the benchtop UFMini system.
  • Made Scientific is equipping its East Norriton facility with scalable 3D bioreactor platforms of up to 200 liters.

Made Scientific will deploy multiple CARR Biosystems UniFuge single-use centrifugation systems across its Princeton, NJ, and East Norriton, PA, facilities under a partnership the two companies announced on October 26, 2026. PR Newswire carried the announcement. CARR named Made Scientific a preferred CDMO for UniFuge development studies.

How the UniFuge Systems Fit Made Scientific's Facilities

Made Scientific will integrate UniFuge into its operations as a cell harvest, wash, and concentration technology for 3D and large-scale manufacturing of mesenchymal stem cells and feeder cells. The company said the systems strengthen its ability to support allogeneic programs as they scale.

"Allogeneic therapies reach patients at commercial scale only when the whole process scales, not just the bioreactor," said Syed T. Husain, Chairman and CEO of Made Scientific. "As we bring 3D bioreactor capacity online, harvest and wash is where large-volume processes are most often constrained or where significant yields are lost."

The UniFuge platform uses low-shear tubular bowl centrifugation for cell concentration, washing, media exchange, harvest, and formulation. Its single-use family spans process volumes from milliliters to more than 2,000 liters, and it offers automated operation, rapid changeover, and a 21 CFR Part 11-compliant data trail. Made Scientific is equipping its East Norriton facility with scalable 3D bioreactor platforms of up to 200 liters.

"Made Scientific's expanding clinical-to-commercial footprint make it an ideal partner for scalable, single-use cell processing," said Joel Williams, President of CARR Biosystems. "Their team's manufacturing expertise and focus on scale-up align closely with how we designed the UniFuge platform."

The companies also plan joint development studies using CARR's benchtop UFMini system to generate small-scale data that carries forward to larger volumes. Made Scientific's MSC and extracellular vesicle offerings were established through its partnership with RoosterBio, which has integrated the UniFuge platform into its bioprocess engineering capabilities and process development services.

Made Scientific's Manufacturing Footprint

Made Scientific is a Princeton, NJ-based cell therapy CDMO founded in 2019, according to akta.pro company records. The company operates a 60,000 ft² main facility in Princeton with GMP manufacturing capabilities and five ISO 7 / Grade B cleanrooms that meet US FDA and EU Annex 1 standards. Its headcount range is 101-250, and it is backed by South Korea's GC Corporation.

Earlier Partnerships Across Cell Therapy Platforms

Made Scientific signed a binding memorandum of understanding with NurExone Biologic Inc. and its U.S. subsidiary Exo-Top Inc. in August 2026 to establish an exclusive U.S. GMP manufacturing and commercial supply partnership for exosome-based therapies, Yahoo reported. In June 2026, Telos Biotech and Made Scientific announced a collaboration to evaluate TELOVANCE, a telomerase-based telomere lengthening platform, across CAR-T, NK, and CD34+ cell therapy platforms, BioSpace reported. Made Scientific and RoosterBio announced a partnership in May 2026 integrating RoosterBio's MSC and extracellular vesicle manufacturing platforms into Made Scientific's CDMO operations, PR Newswire reported.
