Chicago-based RJW Logistics Group plans to open a second Northwest Arkansas office by the first quarter of the year, either in Bentonville or Rogers, to support a new Walmart logistics program. Talk Business & Politics reported the expansion on October 25, 2026.
RJW's Bentonville or Rogers Office Plan
Spencer Smith, chief growth officer of RJW, is based at the company's Bentonville office. Smith expects the additional office to be between 3,000 and 5,000 square feet, or double to triple the size of the existing office, and to include meeting space. He did not disclose an investment amount, but said the office is expected to be leased for five to seven years.
"For us, it's really important to be part of the overall vendor community," Smith said, adding that most have a presence in Northwest Arkansas if they do business with Walmart. "We are a very large Walmart consolidator. We are only one of 3PLs that got to be a preferred provider for the new national PO program that Walmart's rolling out. And so it's strategically important for us to be here."
Walmart's Prepaid Consolidation program allows suppliers to ship items under a single national purchase order to one central location instead of managing separate orders and shipments for 42 regional distribution centers. The program is expected to simplify logistics while keeping existing prepaid freight terms unchanged. Shippers can manage shipments through Walmart or company-approved third-party logistics providers, including RJW, C.H. Robinson or Hub Group.
"It's only been live for about five months, but we've seen a lot of traction," Smith said. "We're actually expanding into the other NPO markets that start kind of in Chicago. We're looking at Texas with them. We're looking at California. And it's great for us. It's a great inbound pipeline. It's great for us from a customer perspective, from an existing perspective, to open up conversations and have more solutions."
RJW Logistics Group is an asset-based retail logistics provider serving over 1,100 CPG suppliers with truckload consolidation, warehousing, and proprietary analytics across 22 U.S. facilities, shipping into 150+ retailers including Walmart, Kroger, and H-E-B, according to company records. The company has 12 employees in Northwest Arkansas comprising its commercial team, who would remain in the existing office. The new office will allow the company to expand beyond outside sales into account management, strategy and information technology.
RJW's Warehouse Footprint and Funding
According to akta.pro company records, RJW Logistics Group acquired a 788,320-square-foot warehouse in Plainfield, Illinois, in June 2026, establishing the company's 16th Illinois distribution facility and second Plainfield location, expanding its state footprint beyond 10 million square feet. The company was selected in May 2026 as one of three official third-party logistics providers for Walmart's new Prepaid Consolidation Program, handling shipments to Walmart's 42 regional distribution centers under published rate cards. RJW operates 15.5 million square feet across Illinois, Texas, Pennsylvania, and California, and recorded one funding round, a December 2024 private equity round led by Berkshire Partners.
RJW's Hiring Timeline
Smith said the University of Arkansas has a strong supply chain program, and he looks to recruit its students or graduates, either as interns or into other RJW roles. Over time, he expects to hire between 15 and 20 staff to fill the new positions.
