Axon announced Axon Body 5, a body-worn camera with 25x the AI processing power of earlier-generation models, on October 24, 2026. The company said it is introducing two versions, Axon Body 5 and Axon Body 5 Pro, with general availability dates to be announced. Axon is based in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Axon Body 5 Features and Two Versions
Axon said Axon Body 5 delivers 25x the AI processing power of earlier-generation Axon body cameras, alongside advancements in connectivity, audio, video and battery life. The camera carries 20% more battery life than the previous generation. Both models include a near-focus camera lens that lets officers scan driver's licenses to check status and search for wants or warrants without returning to the patrol vehicle, with relevant information sent to Axon Fusus. Four additional front-facing speakers project audio toward the person an officer is speaking with, and additional memory lets the camera run several AI tools at once.
Rick Smith, Axon Founder and CEO, said: "Officers shouldn't have to choose between getting information and watching the scene. With Axon Body 5, they don't." Smith said officers capture a license or document with the camera, keep their hands free and eyes up, and get information faster than writing it down and calling it in by radio.
TradingView reported that the two versions will roll out with general availability dates to be announced. Axon said the Axon Body 5 Pro will continue to gain new AI capabilities as they become available, growing along with the AI Era Plan. Axon Guardian, a category of AI features within the AI Era Plan, includes Escalation Detection and Approach Alert; a human reviews the livestream and decides if additional support or action is needed.
Axon's AI Revenue Growth

Axon's fiscal 2025 revenue was $2.8 billion, up 33% from the prior year. The company's total funding stands at $3 billion, with its last round dated September 15, 2026.
Earlier Axon Deployments and Tests
In October 2026, Axon announced new corrections deployments across four states, including NYS DOCCS, Ohio, Maryland and North Carolina, with Maryland reporting a 40% drop in staff assaults after a trial, PR Newswire reported. Tasmania Police tested Axon's Draft One AI tool for family violence reports in October 2026, finding it cut report time to 42 minutes but occasionally misidentified roles or missed threats, according to ABC. Also in October 2026, Axon announced federal contract awards including over 22,000 body-worn cameras and digital evidence licenses, and 1,600 TASER devices for VA police, PR Newswire reported.
