Molnlycke Health Care has launched MyFit by Biogel, an expanded range of surgical glove fit options developed using 3D hand measurement data from 780 clinicians. The Swedish MedTech company said the range is designed to better reflect the diversity of clinicians' hand anatomy. B2B Marketplace reported the launch on October 14, 2026.

How MyFit by Biogel Was Developed

The range targets clinicians who fall between standard sizes or outside conventional fit profiles. Molnlycke said research shows that 32% of surgical glove users with smaller hands want better-fitting or more customised sizing options, while 44% of women report their current glove size is not a good fit.

Traditional surgical glove sizing relies primarily on palm width measurements and often fails to account for differences in finger length and hand anatomy. Molnlycke said excess material in the fingertips may reduce tactile sensitivity and dexterity, while tightness across the palm can limit hand movement. These issues may also increase the risk of glove breaches during surgery.

"Hands are a surgeon's most important instrument in the operating room. The right glove fit is not a nice-to-have; it is critical to comfort, safety and performance. More inclusive sizing means fewer surgical team members have to settle for gloves that do not support them at their best," said Dr. Abhishek Chatterjee, Chief of Plastic Surgery at Tufts Medical Center in Massachusetts and lead author of a 2025 systematic literature review on surgical glove fit and provider performance.

"For more than 40 years, Biogel has been trusted by surgical teams around the world. With MyFit by Biogel, we are taking the next step by offering sizing options that better reflect the diversity of clinicians' hands, so more people can work with confidence, comfort and control," said Katriina Oberg, Executive Vice President Gloves at Molnlycke Health Care.
