Indra Group USA hosted U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and Senator Roger Marshall at its Olathe, Kansas manufacturing facility, which is now fully operational. The company said the 118,000-square-foot plant represents a $50 million investment and supports more than 200 local jobs. GlobeNewswire published the announcement on October 14, 2026.

Inside the Olathe Production Lines

Duffy and Marshall toured active production lines with Frank McIntosh, Chief Operating Officer of the Federal Aviation Administration, and City of Olathe Mayor John Bacon. The delegation met with Indra Group leadership to observe manufacturing supporting aviation, communications and defense infrastructure.

The facility produces next-generation radars and NEXCOM VHF/UHF air-to-ground digital radios for FAA programs. It will also produce more than 1,500 ADS-B radios and portable Tactical Air Navigation systems for the U.S. Air Force.

"With our Kansas facility now fully operational, Indra is supporting key FAA and U.S. Department of War programs with mission-critical radars, radios, navaids and defense systems," said Víctor Martínez, Executive Vice President of Air Traffic Management and Mobility at Indra Group. "Our U.S. teams have already delivered more than 3,500 radios, commissioned 7 radar sites and deployed SAI systems at 12 airports."

Senator Marshall said Kansas has a proud aviation history and that modernizing air traffic control systems and investing in airports are critical to keeping travelers safe and supporting good-paying jobs.

Indra Group's U.S. Manufacturing Footprint

According to akta.pro company records, Indra Group USA celebrated the grand opening of the 118,000-square-foot manufacturing hub at the Great Plains Commerce Center in Olathe in April 2026, representing a $50 million investment and creating more than 200 new jobs. The same records show Indra Group formed the Iqonair joint venture with NATS and Searidge Technologies in May 2026 to develop AI-enabled digital tower automation solutions for the world's busiest airports.

Earlier Indra Group Moves

Indra Group and Gutmar signed a strategic collaboration agreement in September 2026 to manufacture mechanical parts and sub-assemblies for aerospace and security programmes in Catalonia, Atalayar reported. In August 2026, Indra Group was chosen to lead a consortium installing air traffic management systems at the new Heraklion International Airport in Crete under an EUR 85 million contract, according to AInvest. Indra Group also demonstrated AI capabilities for military threat anticipation and decision-making through its leadership in the European Defence Fund-backed FaRADAI project in August 2026, EuropaWire reported.

What Comes Next for the Kansas Plant

The Olathe facility will produce more than 1,500 ADS-B radios and portable Tactical Air Navigation systems for the U.S. Air Force. Indra Group's U.S. operations complement its existing 40,000-square-foot facility in nearby Overland Park, Kansas.
